What We Need:

We are looking a CDL Relief Driver to work out of our Hicksville, NY, and Hauppauge, NY facilities. The Relief Driver is responsible for supporting day-to-day delivery and sales operations by providing coverage across multiple functions within the distribution team. This position works out of the assigned facility and supports Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations servicing convenience stores, drug stores, and various retail locations with fresh and frozen products.

The Relief Driver plays a critical role in maintaining uninterrupted service by covering open routes, emergency deliveries, vacations, shuttle operations, and pre-sell sales responsibilities as needed. This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying schedules and responsibilities based on operational needs.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver customer orders safely, efficiently, and accurately to assigned locations.
  • Service multiple retail accounts daily by unloading, delivering, stocking, rotating, and merchandising frozen products in designated areas.
  • Provide route coverage for delivery drivers during vacations, absences, staffing shortages, and other operational needs.
  • Respond to urgent or “911” deliveries to ensure customer service expectations are met.
  • Cover shuttle driver responsibilities, including product transfers and warehouse support as assigned.
  • Support pre-selloperations byassistingwith sales coverage, customer communication, and account servicing when needed.
  • Adapt to different delivery routes, customer accounts, schedules, and job assignmentson a daily basis.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships through professional communication and dependable service.
  • Operate company vehicles in compliance with all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Utilize proper safety procedures and lifting techniques while handlingproductand equipment.
  • Safely lift, push, pull, and maneuver product weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis.
  • Drive, stand, walk, bend, twist, and reachfrequentlythroughout the workday.
  • Work an average of 10–12 hours per day, including overtime and occasional Saturdays based on business needs.

What You Need:

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or Brequired.
    • 1 – 2 years’ experience in Route Delivery; Direct Store Delivery preferred
    • Meet the standard requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Highway Administration
    • You must have a safe driving record, follow all state and national driving laws,rulesand regulations.
    • Pass background screens and a Physical Capacity Test
