Position SummaryBurke is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to provide rehabilitative mental health services to adults with chronic mental illness, and potentially children/adolescents and their families, in both office and community-based settings.
The Mental Health Clinician will provide direct care services in accordance with each individual's approved rehabilitation plan and in compliance with Burke and Medicaid standards. This position also requires emergency assessment responsibilities as needed and routine travel throughout the service area.
The ideal candidate will possess strong documentation skills, excellent time-management abilities, flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to helping individuals achieve recovery and wellness goals.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing direct rehabilitative mental health services in office, home, and community settings
- Delivering services according to individualized rehabilitation plans
- Conducting emergency assessments as needed
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Supporting individuals and families in achieving treatment goals
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment teams
- Traveling throughout the assigned service area to provide care
- Performing services in accordance with Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements
This position operates under the supervision of the unit Clinical Coordinator.
Education RequirementsRequired:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, medicine, registered nurse, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, early childhood intervention, or other Human Services discipline that meets QMHP requirements, from an accredited college or university
- Six (6) months of direct care experience working with adults in a behavioral healthcare or mental health setting
- Familiarity with DSM diagnostic criteria
Required:
- Valid Texas Driver's License
Preferred:
- Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW)
Candidates must be able to successfully complete required training, including:
- Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggressive Behavior (SAMA)
- CPR
- First Aid
- Defensive Driving
Additional requirements include:
- Reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel
- Ability to travel routinely throughout the service area
- Driving record acceptable to Burke's insurance carrier
Candidates must be able to perform the following:
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Driving a vehicle
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Hand/finger dexterity
- Effective communication, hearing, and vision abilities
- Monday - Friday
- 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Occasional after-hours work may be required to meet job responsibilities
$42,120 - $43,555 annually
Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience.
