Job Description
Overview
The Engineering Coordinator is a key member of the Engineering Management Team (EMT) at Quality Electrical Systems. This role owns sprint governance and cross-discipline coordination for Electrical Engineering (EE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) teams, ensuring engineering work flows efficiently from intake through delivery.
Reporting to the Engineering Integration Manager, this position operates at the intersection of engineering execution and project management. The Engineering Coordinator protects engineering capacity, drives sprint discipline, and serves as the primary interface between Operations Project Managers and the engineering organization, ensuring engineers remain focused on engineering activities while supporting on-time project execution.
This role is instrumental in maintaining sprint health, coordinating engineering deliverables, supporting engineering change processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Sprint Management & Governance
Serve as the primary Engineering Coordinator for Electrical Engineering (EE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) teams within the Engineering Management Team (EMT).
Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across EE and ME disciplines.
Own and maintain the engineering sprint board in Jira, ensuring task accuracy, capacity visibility, and sprint health metrics.
Manage the PM Deliverable Intake Form process by triaging incoming requests, confirming sprint assignments, identifying backlog items, and communicating outcomes to Operations Project Managers.
Enforce sprint capacity governance by locking committed work before each sprint begins and protecting engineering resources from unplanned interruptions.
Maintain and improve sprint governance documentation, swim lanes, and RASIC artifacts as engineering processes mature.
Track and report sprint velocity, on-time delivery (OTD) contribution metrics, and engineering capacity utilization.
Engineering Coordination & Project Support
Coordinate cross-functional deliverables between Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams.
Ensure BOM milestone completion and tracking at established project milestones (30%, 65%, and 95%).
Partner with Operations Project Managers to resolve capacity conflicts and route escalations appropriately.
Identify and communicate impediments impacting engineering execution and work with Engineering Management to remove barriers.
Support collaboration between Engineering, Scheduling, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams.
Assist with SolidWorks PDM release coordination and engineering change notification routing when applicable.
Process Improvement & Engineering Systems
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering workflow optimization and sprint effectiveness.
Participate in the development and refinement of engineering processes, governance standards, and workflow procedures.
Support engineering change management processes, including PLM, ECR, and ECO activities where applicable.
Recommend improvements to increase engineering efficiency, reduce waste, and improve project execution.
Training & Team Support
Support onboarding and training of engineers on sprint processes, Jira workflows, and Engineering Handbook procedures.
Provide guidance on engineering workflow expectations and sprint participation requirements.
Reinforce process discipline and promote adherence to established engineering procedures.
Foster communication and collaboration across engineering disciplines and cross-functional teams.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or project coordination role.
Demonstrated experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog management, and retrospectives.
Proficiency with Jira or equivalent project management and sprint tracking tools.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams across disciplines.
Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with engineers, project managers, and leadership teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile coordination certification.
Experience in an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) or custom manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, or AutoCAD in an engineering production environment.
Understanding of UL, NEMA, NEC, or IEEE standards as they apply to electrical equipment manufacturing.
Experience coordinating deliverables between Electrical and Mechanical Engineering disciplines.
Prior experience supporting Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), or engineering change management processes.
Technical Skills
Jira project management, including board configuration, sprint management, and reporting.
Microsoft Teams and SharePoint communication and document management.
SolidWorks PDM familiarity with release states and part number workflows preferred.
Basic ERP navigation and understanding of sales orders (SO) and bills of material (BOM).
Microsoft 365 proficiency, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Agile and Scrum frameworks, including sprint ceremonies, velocity tracking, and retrospective facilitation.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings at a general level.
