Director, Transaction Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Transaction Management based in the United States.

This senior-level role leads transaction management strategy and execution across large, complex real estate portfolios and enterprise initiatives.
You will translate business objectives into strategic transaction plans, market optimization strategies, and measurable portfolio outcomes.
The position offers broad exposure across multiple asset classes and high-impact client real estate programs.
You will guide brokers, transaction teams, and cross-functional partners through sophisticated transactions and negotiations.
The role combines strategic advisory, financial analysis, client relationship management, and operational execution.
You will also drive process improvements and leverage technology and AI-enabled solutions to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
As a people leader, you will develop high-performing teams while maintaining a strong focus on client value, quality, and execution excellence.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead strategic market optimization planning and transaction initiatives aligned with client business objectives, portfolio strategies, and real estate priorities.
  • Develop strategic real estate plans and provide senior-level real estate advice to clients.
  • Identify opportunities for occupancy cost savings, expansions, contractions, pull-forwards, dispositions, renewals, and other portfolio optimization strategies.
  • Develop and support business cases, reporting, data analysis, and financial analysis needed to evaluate strategic recommendations.
  • Initiate and oversee complex transactions, dispositions, and renewals from planning through execution.
  • Direct internal and third-party brokerage resources, providing strategic guidance to brokers, client stakeholders, and transaction teams.
  • Lead complex negotiations to achieve favorable client outcomes and promote consistent transaction management practices.
  • Oversee sophisticated transactions and coordinate legal review of client lease documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, facilities teams, environmental consultants, and other specialists to support successful transaction execution.
  • Partner with corporate real estate teams and local business leaders to understand requirements and develop transaction strategies.
  • Lead client presentations, business reviews, governance meetings, and other senior-level client engagements.
  • Conduct market and financial analysis to support transaction strategies, portfolio recommendations, and informed client decisions.
  • Maintain accurate transaction reporting and data across relevant systems and provide effective performance visibility.
  • Manage revenue projections and tracking, prepare transaction close-out reports, and calculate value creation and other performance measures.
  • Establish and improve reporting processes, playbooks, governance practices, post-transaction reviews, and client feedback programs.
  • Identify and implement technology- and AI-enabled solutions that improve transaction execution, workflow efficiency, reporting quality, analysis, and client outcomes.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports while leading brokers, field agents, service partners, and cross-functional contributors through complex transaction activity.
  • Build a collaborative, performance-oriented team environment focused on client satisfaction, quality, and consistent delivery.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in transaction management, corporate real estate, portfolio advisory, commercial real estate, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex transactions and enterprise-level real estate initiatives across multiple asset classes.
  • Strong knowledge of transaction strategy, negotiations, portfolio optimization, lease processes, market analysis, and real estate financial analysis.
  • Proven experience developing strategic real estate plans and translating business objectives into actionable transaction and portfolio strategies.
  • Experience managing brokers, transaction teams, external service providers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with senior executives and operational leaders.
  • Advanced analytical and financial capabilities, including business-case development, data analysis, forecasting, reporting, and value-creation calculations.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience improving processes, implementing governance frameworks, and using technology or AI-enabled tools to enhance operational efficiency is highly valuable.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including coaching, mentoring, team development, performance management, and fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence leading executive presentations, business reviews, and strategic discussions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment while supporting client-site activities and collaborating with geographically distributed teams.
