Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The estimator is responsible for developing business through insurance adjusters, customers, and other sources to assure an adequate sales volume, provide a reasonable department operating profit, and maintain certain customer satisfaction standards while controlling expenses. The estimator directs the activities of employees in performing body repairs, including meeting time schedules and productivity levels, and maintaining quality standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/DUTIES:

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with several insurance adjusters.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Works with customer and Body Shop Technician to identify required repair work
  • Schedules appointments with customer and offers additional services and repairs
  • Computes cost of replacement parts and labor to restore vehicle to condition specified by customer
  • Enters itemized estimate on repair order and explains estimate to customer
  • Keeps customer informed and updated throughout the repairs
  • Maintains Customer Satisfaction score at or above designated standards
  • Must be familiar with and able to adhere to various insurance guidelines

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Technical or Trade school degree preferred
  • Must have PA State Appraiser License
  • Knowledge of insurance processes.
  • Must maintain a valid state driver’s license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping to complete or inspect repairs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
