JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Wire Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of the wire room daily operations. The Wire Manager will perform multiple functions, maintain communication between the branch and other areas of the Bank, provide management reporting and analysis; and provide coaching, support, guidance and training to staff.
Essential Functions

- Oversees the daily operations and management of the Wire Department functions by determining workflow to ensure adequate staffing and effective utilization of resources.
- Provides coaching and mentoring to motivate, develop skills, and conducts staff meetings to maximize their potential.
- Builds constructive and effective relationships with staff and employees in other areas of the bank to support a collaborative working environment.
- Acts as resource for customers, the branch, and operations staff related to the wire transfer process.
- Monitors department activities and performs periodic audits of internal controls to ensure quality and efficiency of work as well as compliance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and evaluates departmental processes and procedures to create efficiencies, improve quality, and minimize risk.
- Creates and prepares management reporting using a variety of Core system applications.
- Works with vendors and service providers to identify research and recommend service/system offerings to enhance customer service, improve efficiencies, increase production, mitigate risk, and address system related issues.
- Assists in the implementation of new products or programs to ensure system integrity, and recommends program changes to be more efficiently and effectively. Participates in system releases/enhancements.
- Reviews and approves the daily department activities and general ledger settlement.
- Reviews and monitors department budget and prepares periodic expense variance report.
- Responsible for human resources administrative functions include work scheduling, payroll, performing annual reviews, staff hiring, conducts counseling sessions, and disciplines assigned staff.
- Formulates recommendations for personnel and operational policies to management.
- Creates and maintains corporate contingency plan and disaster recovery procedures. Also, participates in disaster recovery plan exercises and testing.
- Prior working knowledge of Regulation E Dispute processing with an emphasis to Wire Transfers preferred.
- Remains knowledgeable and completes ongoing training in compliance with Bank standards and federal and state banking laws and regulations to ensure that changes are implemented in a timely manner.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.
Physical Demands
This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
Travel
Limited local travel may be required for this position.
Education and Experience
- Two or more years of Wire transfer experience required.
- Two to three years banking industry or operations experience.
- Minimum of three years management experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
For Applicants located in Alexandria, Virginia (VA): The anticipated salary range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 per hour.
For Applicants located in Preston, Maryland (MD): The anticipated salary range for this position is $30.00 – $35.00 per hour.
For Applicants from all other locations: The salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
The ranges listed for Virginia and/or Maryland represent the good-faith compensation the Company reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation, such as bonuses or incentive pay, where applicable.
