Concrete Cutter Trainee / Operator in Dallas, Texas at Penhall Company

Experienced Concrete Cutter Operators may be eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus!

To qualify, experienced operators must meet Penhall's eligibility requirements, including a minimum of 2 years of concrete cutting experience. The bonus is paid in two installments based on the applicable sign-on bonus agreement and continued employment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As a Concrete Cutter Trainee or Operator, you will work as part of a crew performing concrete cutting and related work at customer jobsites.

Depending on your experience and skill level, responsibilities may include:

• Operate and assist with concrete cutting equipment, including flat/slab saws, wall saws, hand saws, core drills, wire saws, and other specialized equipment.
• Perform concrete cutting, coring, drilling, and related work according to project specifications.
• Set up, operate, maintain, and safely handle tools and equipment.
• Measure, mark, and prepare work areas before cutting or drilling.
• Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and setting up equipment at jobsites.
• Follow jobsite safety procedures and company safety standards.
• Work closely with other crew members to complete projects safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report any equipment or safety concerns.
• Follow instructions from experienced operators, supervisors, and project leaders.

FOR TRAINEES

No previous concrete cutting experience is required!

We are willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an interest in developing a skilled trade. As a Trainee, you will learn how to safely operate concrete cutting equipment and perform various cutting and coring techniques while working alongside experienced Penhall employees.

FOR EXPERIENCED OPERATORS

Experienced Concrete Cutters/Operators are encouraged to apply!

Candidates with experience operating equipment such as:

• Flat/slab saws
• Wall saws
• Wire saws
• Hand saws
• Core drills
• Other concrete cutting or drilling equipment are encouraged to apply.

Experience in concrete cutting, coring, demolition, construction, roadwork, utilities, or other related trades is also valuable.

Qualified experienced operators may be eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

• Knowledge of safe equipment operation and jobsite practices.
• Ability to read and follow project instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.

Minimum of 2 years of concrete cutting experience for sign-on bonus eligibility.

• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Commercial driver's license and valid medical card highly desired and gets you priority interview status
• Valid OSHA 10 or OHSA 30 highly desired and gets you priority interview status
• 2-5 years of experience working in a construction company.
• Proficiency in the use of demolition tools such as wall saws, core drills, flat saws, hand saws, ring saws, wire saws, and compressor tools.
• Experience with bobcats, backhoes, or related equipment is a plus.
• Proficiency in the use of diamond or demolition tools, including wall saws, core drills, flat saws, hand saws, and ring saws.
• Experience with bobcats, backhoes, or related equipment is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to mentor and support trainees, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.
• Self-motivation, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in challenging conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions effectively.
• Teamwork and collaboration abilities to support project objectives.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screenings.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a good driving history.
• Steel toe leather work boots are required.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, lifting, climbing, stooping, twisting, and manual labor.
• Ability to lift and transport heavy equipment and materials as required up to 50 lbs.
• Tolerance for exposure to various weather conditions and environments.
• May be required to travel to job sites or other locations as necessary.
