Responsibilities
State Farm’s Infrastructure, Workplace, and Technology Services (IWTS) area is seeking an experienced Technology Director to lead our Enterprise Endpoint Services organization. This director will define and execute strategy, engineering, delivery, and continuous improvement of endpoint technology services that enable a secure, reliable, and modern computing environment for employees and agents across the enterprise.
The Technology Director is accountable for the engineering, lifecycle management, security, automation, operational health, and modernization of enterprise endpoint platforms across PC, virtual desktop, and mobile. This leader will establish the long-term technology vision while ensuring operational excellence through standardization, automation, proactive engineering, and data-driven service management.
Working across Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Product Management, Procurement, Vendor Management, Agency Business, Claims, and external technology partners, this leader will shape the future of endpoint computing through engineering innovation, platform modernization, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate combines strategic technology leadership with deep engineering expertise and a passion for building resilient, scalable technology platforms that improve reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the enterprise Endpoint Services strategy aligned to State Farm's technology vision and business objectives.
- Define multi-year technology roadmaps for endpoint engineering, lifecycle management, automation, endpoint security, and platform modernization.
- Lead enterprise modernization initiatives that improve endpoint reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic investments that improve operational capabilities while reducing complexity and technical debt.
- Provide strategic leadership for enterprise endpoint engineering capabilities, including Endpoint and Desktop Platform Engineering, Endpoint Configuration and Policy Management, Endpoint Automation and Performance Engineering, Monitoring, Health Analytics, Workplace Technology Standards and Enterprise Virtual Desktop Services.
- Lead engineering teams responsible for designing, building, securing, automating, and continuously improving enterprise endpoint platforms.
- Provide enterprise ownership for the complete endpoint lifecycle, including Device Planning and Standards, Endpoint Provisioning and Deployment, Zero Touch Deployment, Hardware Refresh Programs
- Lead enterprise capabilities supporting Enterprise Software and Application Packaging and Software Distribution
- Drive automation and standardization to deliver secure, reliable, and timely software deployment across enterprise endpoints.
- Partner closely with Information Security to embed security throughout the endpoint lifecycle
- Ensure enterprise endpoint platforms consistently meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements while reducing operational risk through automation and proactive remediation
- Partners with stakeholders, Risk and Compliance, Legal, and vendor management teams to ensure compliance requirements are appropriately addressed through endpoint lifecycle
- Establish engineering practices that improve platform reliability and service availability.
- Lead strategic relationships with managed service providers, hardware manufacturers, software vendors, and technology partners.
Leadership
- Build, inspire, and develop high-performing engineering and technology teams.
- Foster a culture centered on ownership, innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
- Coach leaders while building organizational capabilities that support future technology needs.
- Promote collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, architecture, security, and business organizations.
- Lead organizational change and technology transformation initiatives across the enterprise.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
- 5+ years leading enterprise endpoint engineering, workplace infrastructure, enterprise computing, or workplace technology services.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale endpoint environments supporting tens of thousands of enterprise devices.
- Proven success leading enterprise modernization, platform engineering, and technology transformation initiatives.
- Experience managing complex technology portfolios, multi-million-dollar budgets, and strategic vendor relationships.
Technical Expertise
Experience with enterprise technologies including:
- Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), Entra ID, Azure
- Windows Endpoint Management
- MacOS Enterprise Management including JAMF
- Windows Autopilot / Zero Touch Deployment
- Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
- Endpoint Vulnerability Management
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) including Azure Virtual Desktop and W365
- Endpoint Analytics
- Enterprise software deployment and application lifecycle management

Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!
- Potential starting salary range: $173,000 - $228,500
- Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
- High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 30% of base salary
