Job Description
Help keep national accounts moving while giving sales leaders more time to grow them.
Kept Companies is hiring an experienced Account Manager to support strategic, multi-location customers across our nationwide fleet and facility services platform. This is a high-ownership role for someone who excels at customer communication, service coordination, disciplined follow-up, and keeping complex work moving across multiple teams.
You will partner closely with Executive Business Development Managers and serve as the day-to-day coordination point for assigned accounts. You will manage requests from intake through closeout, work across Operations and other internal teams, maintain clear customer communication, identify risks and growth signals, and make sure commitments do not fall through the cracks. The EBDM owns account strategy and revenue; you own the process that keeps the customer experience on track.
About Kept Companies
Kept Companies is a nationwide leader in fleet, facility, and property maintenance. With more than 53 years of experience, nine leading brands, 25-plus service lines, more than 1,700 trained employees, and 140-plus locations across the United States, we give customers one trusted partner for essential services at scale. Our teams support thousands of customer locations with self-performing service, technology-enabled visibility, and the reach to deliver consistent results across local, regional, and national portfolios.
What You Will Do
· Serve as the primary contact for routine operational and administrative communication with assigned customers.
· Receive, validate, document, and route customer requests through the appropriate company systems.
· Coordinate work orders, service schedules, status updates, documentation, and customer closeout from intake through completion.
· Partner with Operations, Sales, Compliance, and Finance to resolve issues, clarify ownership, and prevent requests from stalling.
· Monitor open work, follow up on commitments, and escalate delays, service failures, or customer risks at the right time.
· Maintain accurate customer contacts, account information, activity, and follow-up actions in the CRM.
· Prepare information and track action items for EBDM-led account reviews and strategic customer initiatives.
· Identify potential retention risks, new locations, additional service needs, and other expansion opportunities, then communicate them promptly to the EBDM.
What Success Looks Like
· Customers receive prompt acknowledgement, useful updates, and clear next steps without having to chase for answers.
· Requests are complete, accurately assigned, actively monitored, and closed with the required documentation.
· Operational issues are identified early and escalated before they damage the customer relationship.
· EBDMs spend less time on administrative follow-up and more time on account strategy, executive relationships, and growth.
· CRM records, commitments, risks, and opportunities are current, visible, and actionable.
Required Qualifications
· Minimum of five years of business-to-business sales or account management experience.
· Demonstrated success managing customer relationships, competing priorities, and multi-step follow-up.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, responsive customer-service approach.
· Excellent organization, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and follow-through.
· Ability to work independently in a remote environment and coordinate effectively across multiple departments.
· Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office, particular expertise with Excel.
Preferred Experience
· Multi-location or national account management.
· Service coordination, project coordination, customer success, or operations support.
· Experience working with customer portals, procurement systems, work-order platforms, or customer-specific ordering processes.
Compensation and Benefits
· $60,000 annual base salary.
· Up to $10,000 in annual performance-based incentive compensation.
· $70,000 on-target earnings.
· Health benefits.
· Paid time off.
· 401(k) benefits.
· Remote work from anywhere in the United States, with a preference for candidates located in or able to work primarily within the Central Time Zone.
