Job Description

Market Curation Editor (Sports)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Market Curation Editor (Sports) based in Sweden.

This role sits at the intersection of sports expertise, editorial judgment, and product data operations for a social-predictions platform. You will serve as the human quality layer behind an automated system that generates sports prediction markets. Your responsibility will be to determine which markets are accurate, clear, and ready to publish, while identifying gaps and correcting issues the system cannot resolve. The position requires deep, current knowledge of professional and collegiate sports and a strong understanding of official rules and settlement conventions. You will make time-sensitive decisions across live events while ensuring every market can be resolved against authoritative sources. Your editorial precision and judgment will directly influence the quality, reliability, and user experience of the product.

Accountabilities:
  • Review daily queues of system-generated sports markets within fixed completion deadlines, working across all markets generated for each sporting event.
  • Evaluate candidate markets for factual accuracy, clarity, completeness, and whether their resolution criteria can be objectively adjudicated using an authoritative source and defined settlement date.
  • Verify market opening and closing times against underlying events, accounting for scheduled changes, delays, postponements, and other developments.
  • Apply appropriate league-specific settlement conventions, including overtime, shootouts, abandoned or postponed events, minimum-play requirements for player props, and official statistical corrections.
  • Assess markets against community standards and content policies, escalating ambiguous or sensitive cases when a clear determination cannot be made.
  • Approve, edit, or reject markets and document a structured, accurate reason for every decision as part of the product-quality process.
  • Rewrite prediction questions and resolution language to make them precise, unambiguous, and natural for sports fans.
  • Create timestamped clarifications when ambiguity develops during live markets and resolve settlement exceptions that cannot be handled by automated data feeds.
  • Conduct proactive gap scans by monitoring live markets for visible errors and tracking schedules, team news, breaking developments, and relevant social platforms for events that were not captured by the automated pipeline.
  • Participate in regular calibration reviews to maintain consistency with editorial guidelines and align decision-making with other curators and leads.
  • Contribute to overall market quality by maintaining strong completion, decision, reasoning, rewriting, and proactive discovery standards.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in sports trading, sports data operations, sports journalism, sports editorial work, or a comparable role requiring current sports subject-matter expertise.
  • Strong and current knowledge of professional and collegiate sports across major leagues and sporting categories.
  • Deep familiarity with sports culture, breaking news, trades, free agency, team developments, and sports-focused social media.
  • Working knowledge of official rules, settlement conventions, statistical standards, and authoritative sources used to determine results across major leagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments in complex situations involving suspended or abandoned events, statistical corrections, contested outcomes, and ambiguous official rulings.
  • Ability to quickly interpret authoritative sources and make defensible, evidence-based decisions.
  • Exceptional written communication skills and editorial precision, with the ability to create rules and resolution language that remain unambiguous after an outcome is known.
  • Comfortable working within established policies and escalating uncertain cases rather than making unsupported assumptions.
  • Strong attention to detail, consistency, organisation, and deadline management.
  • Flexible availability to work evenings, overnight periods, and weekends when required by live sporting events.
  • Experience with prediction markets, sportsbooks, exchanges, or daily fantasy sports platforms is an advantage.
  • Background in sports journalism or experience developing guidelines, style guides, rulebooks, annotation standards, content policies, or moderation frameworks is a plus.

Benefits:

  • Fully remote opportunity with a flexible global working environment.
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of sports, AI-powered automation, editorial operations, and emerging prediction products.
  • Exposure to a wide range of professional and collegiate sporting events and leagues.
  • Opportunity to directly influence market quality, product reliability, and the experience of sports-focused users.
  • Collaborative environment with regular calibration and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Opportunity to develop expertise in sports data operations, prediction markets, editorial standards, and automated content systems.
  • Flexible scheduling designed to accommodate the timing of live sporting events.
