Job Description

Finance Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Finance Manager based in India.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role across US and UK operations within a growing, complex organization.
The position combines FP&A, financial reporting, accounting, technical finance, and month- and quarter-end close responsibilities.
You will work closely with Controllers and senior finance leaders to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting.
Your analysis will help translate financial performance and business drivers into actionable insights for leadership and operational teams.
The role offers the opportunity to work across a multi-entity environment while contributing to financial planning, process improvements, and strategic decision-making.
You will be expected to move comfortably between high-level financial analysis and detailed accounting work when required.
This is a fully remote role offering meaningful ownership within a collaborative and internationally distributed finance environment.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and support FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, scenario planning, and longer-term financial planning.
  • Analyze financial performance, trends, and business drivers, translating complex financial data into clear insights and recommendations for leadership.
  • Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to develop financial plans, forecasts, and business analyses.
  • Support accurate and timely monthly and quarterly close processes across US and UK entities.
  • Work closely with Controllers to review financial results, investigate variances, identify accounting issues, and maintain the integrity of financial information.
  • Support the preparation and review of management reporting, financial reporting, and US/SEC reporting requirements.
  • Apply US GAAP and UK GAAP knowledge to support appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions and technical accounting matters.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the group's entities, operations, and financial activities to ensure consistent accounting and reporting practices.
  • Partner with finance and operational teams across different regions and build effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, controls, systems, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis, projects, and initiatives as business needs evolve.
  • Take a hands-on approach to finance activities, working through detailed accounting and reporting matters rather than focusing solely on high-level FP&A or management reporting.
Requirements
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Significant professional experience across finance, FP&A, financial reporting, accounting, or a combination of these areas.
  • Strong experience within the biotech or life sciences industry, which is essential for the role.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with UK GAAP.
  • Experience with US/SEC reporting and associated financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes.
  • Strong capabilities in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and broader financial analysis.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity, multi-group, or internationally structured organization.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and technical accounting concepts.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial data and reporting tools.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting platforms is preferred.
  • Experience improving finance processes, controls, and reporting workflows is an advantage.
  • Experience working with US and UK finance teams is preferred.
  • Experience within a public company, SEC reporting environment, pharmaceutical organization, or another highly regulated industry is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to deliver accurate work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and commercial thinking, combined with curiosity and a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Ability to move effectively between strategic FP&A analysis and detailed accounting work.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across finance and operational teams.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams operating in US time zones.
Benefits
  • Fully remote position for candidates based in India.
  • Opportunity to work across US and UK finance operations within a complex multi-entity environment.
  • High level of exposure to FP&A, technical accounting, financial reporting, and strategic finance.
  • Direct collaboration with experienced Controllers and senior finance leadership.
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to financial processes, reporting quality, controls, and business decision-making.
  • Exposure to an international, highly regulated biotech/life sciences environment.
  • Opportunity to work on financial planning, process improvement, scenario analysis, and evolving business initiatives.
  • Collaborative and distributed working environment with significant ownership and responsibility.
  • Practical skills assessment and interview process designed to evaluate technical fit for the role.
