Job Description
PCT Ebeam and Integration is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer. Our System Integration team performs PLC programming, coordinated drives systems, safety upgrades, legacy upgrades, and custom industrial equipment design and build.
Summary
The Electrical Engineer specifies, designs, programs, commissions, and troubleshoots control systems for safe, effective, and efficient operation. Leads the control system development from start to completion. Reviews electrical design. Works with other departments to assure the final system is fully integrated.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Leads the design, development, testing, and commissioning of control systems for safe, effective and efficient operation. Must ensure that the control system meets engineering standards, applicable codes, and customer specifications, cost constraints and timelines.
2. Integrates control system components such as: PLC, HMIs, drives, motion control, motors, vision systems and other custom build control systems to be integrated into a large system.
3. Maintains schedule, budget and hour requirements per the Project Manager. Follows Project Management plan. Communicates with Project Manager known issues upon discovery.
4. Analyzes, designs and modifies industrial processes across a variety of industries.
5. Supports sales, project management, and business development as a technical consultant and estimator. Reviews and interprets customer specifications and sales agreements.
6. Provides estimates of hours to complete tasks to project managers
7. Updates databases and documentation as required. Maintains engineering documents in project directory.
8. Evaluates and selects specialized electrical/electronic components for control systems with consideration to functionality and budget.
9. Acts as technical resource for designers, other engineers, customers, manufacturing, service and sales, assisting in addressing and resolving problems, machine power up, and troubleshooting. Work may be done in the field.
10. Participates in training customers, startup and troubleshooting during installation and commissioning of a system.
11. Participates in cross-functional teams to address and resolve design and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods.
Requirements:Proficient with PLC programming; particularly Rockwell and Siemens. An understanding and experience with industrial process equipment and industrial processes. Advanced knowledge of electrical theory. Ability to interpret drawings and prints.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as calculus based physics, differential equations, probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to use both English and metric measuring systems.
Education generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university and one plus years related experience is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems. Thorough understanding and experience with computer/PLC based control systems.
An understanding and ability to apply company and departmental procedures, project methodology, standard drafting practices and electrical/industry standards (e.g. NEC, CE, UL, NEMA, NFPA, ISA, ANSI, OSHA).
Project related travel to customer sites may be required, including some overseas travel. Ability to obtain current driver’s license and passport required.
