In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of power system engineers focused on advanced ERCOT modeling and NERC compliance studies that directly support the evolution of modern grid infrastructure. You will act as both a technical expert and people leader, overseeing complex power system analyses while ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery of client projects. The position combines deep engineering expertise with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring engineers, improving internal processes, and supporting business development initiatives. You will work closely with clients to understand technical requirements, translate them into study scopes, and ensure delivery excellence. Using advanced industry tools and modeling platforms, you will contribute to critical insights that shape grid reliability and integration of renewable and inverter-based resources. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of engineering excellence, client engagement, and energy system transformation.
In this role, you will lead ERCOT modeling activities while ensuring technical excellence, client satisfaction, and team development across all project phases.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers performing ERCOT IBR modeling and NERC PRC-0.29 studies
- Oversee project delivery to ensure alignment with quality standards, timelines, and budget objectives
- Engage directly with clients to define scope, gather requirements, and address technical concerns
- Perform advanced power system studies using tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, TSAT, and PSCAD
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and delivery quality
- Support business development efforts, including RFP development and scope definition
- Mentor and develop engineers, strengthening both technical and leadership capabilities
- Ensure production of high-quality technical reports and deliverables with strong ownership
The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in power systems modeling combined with leadership experience in ERCOT-focused environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with power systems specialization
- 5+ years of experience in power system engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong experience with ERCOT modeling requirements and grid study procedures
- Proficiency in at least one major power system analysis tool (PSS/E, PSCAD, TSAT, or PSLF)
- Solid understanding of inverter-based resource (IBR) modeling and grid integration concepts
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills with high standards for technical quality and accuracy
- Experience contributing to business development and proposal development is a plus
