Position SummaryThe Flex Security Officer plays a critical role in supporting multiple client sites by providing reliable coverage for vacations, call-offs, and open positions. This role requires flexibility, strong situational awareness, and a high level of professionalism while working across various locations throughout Buckhead to Downtown Atlanta.
Flex Officers are trained at multiple sites and must be dependable, adaptable, and available to work a variety of shifts based on operational needs, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between sites is essential.
Responsibilities
Security Operations
- Provide coverage across multiple assigned locations as needed, including scheduled and last-minute shifts
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to ensure safety and security
- Monitor premises, surveillance systems, and access points
- Control access by verifying credentials, badges, and visitor authorization
- Identify and respond to suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and incidents
- Provide professional, courteous, and helpful assistance to employees, visitors, and clients across all assigned sites
- Serve as a visible security presence to deter potential threats
- Adapt quickly to different environments while maintaining consistent service standards
- Maintain a calm, professional demeanor in all situations
- Represent SecurNation’s values and commitment to service excellence
- Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident reports for each assigned site
- Document security events, violations, and unusual occurrences thoroughly
- Communicate incidents and concerns promptly to supervisors and leadership
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and site-specific post orders
- Adhere to varying client requirements and security protocols across multiple locations
- Maintain required licenses and certifications
- Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and professionalism at all times
- Maintain consistent attendance and dependable performance
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license required
- Reliable transportation to travel between multiple sites (Buckhead to Downtown Atlanta)
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security licenses
- Must successfully complete a background investigation and drug screening
- Must complete the Georgia Board of Private Investigator 24-hour Security Training Course (provided by SecurNation)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and short-notice coverage needs
Preferred:
- Prior experience in security, military, law enforcement, or customer service
- CPR, First Aid, or AED certification
- Experience with access control systems and surveillance equipment
- Previous experience in a flex, rover, or multi-site role
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to patrol large indoor and outdoor areas
- Ability to observe and respond quickly to changing conditions
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds if required
