Software Engineer, Platform Operations

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer, Platform Operations in United States.

This role sits at the heart of a modern, cloud-native engineering organization, focused on building and operating the internal infrastructure that enables engineering teams to deploy, scale, and manage services reliably at global scale. You will contribute to the design and evolution of a highly automated internal developer platform that reduces friction for engineers while improving security, observability, and operational excellence. The environment is fast-paced, highly technical, and deeply collaborative, bringing together experts in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and software engineering. You will work on large-scale Kubernetes-based systems and modern cloud tooling to ensure reliability and performance across mission-critical services. This is a hands-on engineering role where your work directly improves developer experience and platform stability across the organization. The position is remote within the United States, with optional office collaboration depending on location.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable platform operations.
  • Contribute to major platform modernization efforts, including migration from legacy systems to modern cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Manage and operate Kubernetes clusters and associated cloud infrastructure supporting internal and customer-facing services.
  • Improve observability and reliability using monitoring tools such as Grafana, while defining and tracking Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • Develop and enhance core platform systems such as APIs, Kubernetes infrastructure, and internal developer tooling.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to improve developer experience and streamline deployment workflows.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-based workflows to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Participate in operational troubleshooting and incident resolution for complex distributed systems.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or System Administration roles.
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes, Linux systems, and cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Crossplane and CI/CD tools like GitLab or ArgoCD.
  • Solid programming experience in languages such as Go and Python, with experience building cloud-native services.
  • Strong understanding of Git, Docker, and modern CI/CD and GitOps workflows.
  • Experience working in large-scale distributed systems and production environments with strong operational discipline.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and communicate technical designs clearly across teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary with additional eligibility for bonuses and equity incentives.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Remote-first work environment with flexible hybrid options depending on location.
  • Generous paid time off, including holidays and company-wide rest days.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Home office stipend and monthly internet/phone reimbursement.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions and wellness programs.
  • Tuition reimbursement and access to professional learning platforms.
  • Retirement savings plan (401k) and commuter benefits (where applicable).
  • Volunteering PTO and employee assistance programs.
