RJ Manufacturing is seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinist with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on machining experience. Candidates must independently set up CNC lathes, vertical mills, and 5-axis machines, be proficient with FANUC and Haas controls, and have a working knowledge of AS9100 quality requirements.

This is a hands-on setup position for an experienced machinist—not an entry-level machine operator position.

• Monday through Thursday.
• 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Four 10-hour shifts per week.
• Occasional overtime may be required based on production needs.

• Minimum of 10 years of CNC machining experience, including independent setup of CNC lathes, vertical mills, and 5-axis machining centers.
• Proficiency with both FANUC and Haas controls, including setting tool and work offsets, navigating programs, and making necessary program adjustments at the control.
• Working knowledge of AS9100, including following documented quality procedures, inspection requirements, material and part traceability practices, and nonconforming-part reporting procedures.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, interpret tolerances and GD&T, and inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining consistent quality.

Some knowledge of Autodesk Fusion 360 or other CAM software is a plus, but is not required.

• Independently complete machine setups, including tooling, workholding, fixtures, tool offsets, and work coordinate systems.
• Safely prove out programs, verify clearances, and produce first-piece parts that meet drawing and inspection requirements.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds to maintain part quality and efficient production.
• Accurately complete setup sheets, job travelers, and inspection records. Identify and report nonconforming parts and follow the shop’s quality procedures.
• Communicate setup and operating instructions to production personnel and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
