Job Description
Position Title: Machine Shop Operator
Department: Machine Shop
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager/Department Lead
Summary:
This position is responsible for fabricating parts to be used in assembly of Air Guns at Daisy/Crosman in Bloomfield, New York. Involves set up and operation of Mazak and Swiss CNC lathes, Robo Drill and Sharps milling centers along with other manual operation machines.

Education and Experience:
High School diploma/GED preferred. Machine Shop fabrication experience required. On-the-job training can be provided. Must have ability to reason, make basic decisions, read, and follow directions, oral and written.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, Medium Work…Employee must be flexible to meet demands of all workstations on production floor as needed. This includes extensive standing, seeing, pulling/pushing, grasping, repetitive motions, sitting, stooping/kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, twisting, and bending. Lifting to 30 lbs. required with an occasional lift of up to 55 lbs. Must be able to see and pick up small parts, using hands and arms to assemble or package product up to 100 % of the time.
Mental Requirements:
General Intelligence, Motor Coordination Skills, Coordination of Eyes, Hands, and Feet, Verbal Intelligence, some computer skills needed. Mechanical ability needed. Mental toughness to overcome obstacles preferred. Ability to research problems and develop workable solutions on own needed.
Workplace Environmental Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal. Hot and cold working conditions.
Safety Sensitive Position--This position is designated as a safety sensitive position as defined by Act 593 of 2017. A safety sensitive position is any position designated in writing by Daisy Outdoor Products as a safety sensitive position in which as part of the job duties the employee: (a) operating, maintaining, and monitoring of heavy equipment and machinery, (b) working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces or (c) performing life-threatening procedures. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of the employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while operating, maintaining, and monitoring heavy equipment and machinery, and while working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, in confined spaces or performing life-threatening procedures.
