This Supervisor position is located at the Citiva manufacturing facility in Warwick, NY.

Summary

The Cultivation Supervisor is pivotal in overseeing the cultivation operations within the cannabis production facility. You will lead and manage a team of cultivation technicians, ensuring the successful execution of cultivation tasks according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines. Your responsibilities include coordinating and delegating tasks such as cloning, pruning, topping, defoliation, trellising, feeding, irrigation, and pest control among the team members. Monitoring plant health, growth, and environmental conditions will be crucial, allowing you to identify issues and implement corrective measures promptly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of cultivation technicians, providing guidance, training, and support in executing cultivation tasks.

  • Schedule and delegate tasks effectively, ensuring the team operates efficiently and meets production targets.

  • Oversee all aspects of cannabis cultivation, including cloning, pruning, topping, defoliation, trellising, feeding, watering, pest control, and environmental monitoring.

  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory guidelines, and quality standards.

  • Monitor plant health, growth, and environmental conditions, identifying and addressing issues promptly to maintain high-quality crops.

  • Implement preventive measures and treatment plans for pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.

  • Maintain accurate records of cultivation activities, including individual trim-rates, flower-to-trim ratios by strain, plant growth, treatments, environmental conditions, and overall production output while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with the Cultivation Manager to develop cultivation strategies, optimize processes, and troubleshoot issues.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, providing clear instructions and ensuring a cohesive working environment.

  • Oversee the maintenance and sanitation of cultivation equipment and cultivation areas to ensure a clean and safe working environment.

  • Address challenges or deviations from standard procedures promptly, making informed decisions to maintain crop health and productivity.

  • Track and manage supplies necessary for daily cultivation operations, ensuring adequate inventory levels and timely replenishment.

  • Optimize supply chain processes to improve operational efficiency and minimize disruptions.

  • Oversee and manage the track and trace program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for inventory tracking and reporting.

  • Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in cultivation activities.

  • Oversee and ensure the quality and consistency of flower and trim during the packaging process.

  • Create detailed reports on products sent out for testing, compiling data on various parameters as required by regulations.

  • Schedule lab testing and collaborate with the testing laboratory to facilitate the sampling of cannabis products for analysis.

  • Coordinate with the lab team to assist in sampling product and ensure accurate testing procedures.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including compliance, quality assurance, and testing labs, to ensure seamless operations and compliance with regulations.

  • Follow and implement the company’s core values including respect, diversity, sustainability, research, and service.

Qualifications and Education

  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older (18 in NY).

  • Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, agriculture, plant science, botany, or a related field is required.

  • A minimum of three years' experience in large-scale commercial, production, nursery or cultivation environment is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a leadership/supervisory role is required.

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage supply tracking, quality control, documentation, monitor plant health, identify issues, and implement corrective measures.

  • Expert knowledge of cannabis cultivation, strains, and growth cycles is highly preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of techniques and equipment for planting, growing, and harvesting products for consumption, including storage/handling techniques is required.

  • Deep understanding of environmental factors affecting plant growth, such as light, humidity, and temperature.

  • Advanced knowledge of state-specific cannabis laws and regulatory compliance is non-negotiable.

  • Ability to work independently or with others, coordinate multiple tasks, and prioritize work effectively.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at fostering relationships and collaborating seamlessly across all levels of the company and with external partners.
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication.

Pay: $75,000/year​​​​​​​​​​​​

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and rotating shifts;
  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays;
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds unassisted, 100 pounds assisted;
  • Be familiar with using the assistance of push/pull manual transport equipment (ex: pallet jack, hand truck)
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday;
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time;
  • Ability to remain stationary for around 80% of the time
  • Ability to use a ladder (up to 12 ft. extension) and general hardware tools needed for common repairs;
  • Be comfortable to work with the following:
    • General office environment.
    • Extended computer usage.
    • Extended phone usage including teleconferences, and
    • Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to, fumes, dust, odors, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, and noise.
