This role is designed for a senior backend engineer who will build the technical foundation connecting enterprise architectures with advanced AI models. You will develop secure, scalable services that enable business systems to interact effectively with Large Language Models (LLMs). The position combines deep Java expertise with Generative AI technologies, contributing to the evolution of AI-native solutions. You will work in a collaborative environment focused on innovation, modernization, and impactful technology delivery. The role requires strong architectural thinking, integration skills, and experience building resilient backend ecosystems. The role focuses on designing and developing robust backend solutions that enable secure and efficient AI integrations while supporting business-critical platforms.

• Develop and maintain high-quality backend services using Java 11+ and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Design and implement MCP (Model Context Protocol) Servers in Java, enabling secure and standardized access between enterprise systems, databases, and AI models.
• Build GenAI-powered integrations using frameworks such as Spring AI or LangChain4j.
• Create resilient microservices architectures supporting streaming responses, Function Calling (Tool Use), and asynchronous communication with LLMs.
• Develop secure APIs and backend components that expose business rules and data to AI-driven applications.
• Collaborate with technical teams to evolve architecture, improve performance, and ensure scalability of solutions.
• Contribute to the modernization of enterprise applications through AI-enabled engineering practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong backend engineering expertise with practical experience in Generative AI technologies and modern software architecture.

• Advanced experience with Java development and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud).
• Hands-on experience creating backend solutions integrated with Generative AI models and frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of MCP Servers (Model Context Protocol) development or similar AI integration patterns.
• Experience designing microservices, APIs, asynchronous workflows, and scalable distributed systems.
• Familiarity with LLM integrations, streaming responses, and Function Calling concepts.
• Experience with relational databases and vector database extensions, such as pgvector with PostgreSQL, is a plus.
• Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ for AI request processing is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
• Availability for hybrid work in Campinas, São Paulo, with office presence requirements depending on location.
