Community Relations Representative (Entry-Level / New College Graduate)

Job Title: Community Relations Representative
Location: Amarillo, TX
Department: Community Engagement / Public Affairs

Reports To: Community Relations Lead

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and community-focused Community Relations Representative to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent college graduate interested in public relations, communications, nonprofit engagement, corporate social responsibility, community outreach, or stakeholder relations.

The Community Relations Representative will help build and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, local stakeholders, educational institutions, and residents. This role supports outreach initiatives, community programs, volunteer activities, and events that strengthen our organization's presence and impact within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of community engagement programs and events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community groups, nonprofits, schools, local organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, networking events, volunteer activities, and public functions.
  • Assist in promoting community initiatives through social media, newsletters, presentations, and other communication channels.
  • Respond to inquiries from community members and partner organizations in a professional and timely manner.
  • Help track community outreach activities, partnerships, and program outcomes.
  • Coordinate volunteer opportunities and employee participation in community service projects.
  • Gather feedback from community stakeholders and provide recommendations for improving engagement efforts.
  • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and communications materials for leadership.
  • Ensure all community interactions reflect the organization’s values, mission, and brand.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Political Science, Sociology, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Willingness to attend occasional evening or weekend community events.

Preferred

  • Internship, volunteer, campus leadership, student organization, or community service experience.
  • Experience using social media platforms for communication and engagement.
  • Familiarity with event planning and coordination.
  • Knowledge of CRM, volunteer management, or community engagement tools.
