FARIFIELD INN & SUITES GAINESVILLE I-35, TX

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the daily complimentary hot breakfast buffet, ensuring an exceptional morning experience for our guests. As one of the first faces our guests see each day, this role requires an enthusiastic hospitality mindset, excellent cleanliness standards, and compliance with all Fairfield brand service protocols.

Essential Job Functions

  • Greet every guest warmly with a smile, maintain a helpful and welcoming presence in the breakfast area, and address guest inquiries or dietary questions promptly.
  • Prepare and set up all hot and cold breakfast items, beverages, and condiments according to Fairfield brand presentation standards. Monitor, replenish, and rotate food items continuously during breakfast hours to ensure freshness and availability.
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness in the breakfast dining area, kitchen preparation zone, and storage areas. Frequently wipe down tables, counters, and high-touch surfaces. Follow all local health department regulations and corporate food safety guidelines.
  • Assist leadership with tracking breakfast inventory, checking expiration dates, and rotating stock using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method. Minimize food waste through accurate portion control and demand forecasting.
  • Efficiently break down the buffet at the conclusion of breakfast hours. Properly store leftovers, wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, and equipment, and sweep/mop the dining and kitchen floors to prepare for the next day.
  • Maintain the absolute cleanliness and presentation of the kitchen, breakfast area, guest corridors, main lobby, elevators, and all other assigned public or back-of-house areas to ensure a spotless environment throughout the property.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards).
  • Always comply with Mid-Continent Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Always maintain a friendly and warm atmosphere.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the food area, pre-function space and storage areas including the carpets, walls, walks, windows, and heating/air conditioning units, etc.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Part Time possibility of Full Time with combination of different position at the hotel
  • Working on Sunday and Monday is a must to cover the breakfast area.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or customer service preferred, but not required. We will train the right personality.
  • Strong communication skills, a proactive work ethic, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced morning environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a shift, lift and carry up to 30 pounds, and perform repetitive bending or reaching tasks.
  • Must be able to report to work early in the morning (typically starting between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM) and work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
  • Food Handler’s Card/ServSafe certification is a plus (or must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment where required by local law).
