Job Summary

The Market Development Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing growth opportunities across existing and emerging markets for Plaskolite. This role focuses on expanding the company’s presence in targeted industries, applications, and customer segments by combining market intelligence, customer engagement, and internal collaboration. Acting as a strategic connector between Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Operations, the Market Development Manager helps shape and execute go-to-market strategies that align with Plaskolite’s growth and value proposition objectives. While not a people manager, this role influences commercial direction through deep market insight and strong cross-functional coordination.

This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality—reflecting Plaskolite’s core values of Integrity and Improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a market growth strategy for the Building Products and Specialty Products segment.
  • Identify and evaluate new applications, customers/ channels through market research and trend analysis.
  • Partner with R&D, sales, and operations to bring new products to market and expand existing product lines.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within Plaskolite, translating market insights into actionable strategies.
  • Lead market/ product development initiatives from ideation through commercialization.
  • Conduct in-depth market, competitor, and application analyses to define growth opportunities.
  • Drive new product introduction in collaboration with technical, operational, and commercial teams.
  • Develop market positioning, value propositions, and business cases for new and existing products.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with architects, OEMs, distributors, and contractors to influence specification and adoption.
  • Support sales teams with training, technical insights, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Monitor financial performance, pricing strategies, and profitability metrics to ensure segment growth.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives and compliance with industry standards, codes, and certifications.
  • Represent Plaskolite at industry associations, trade shows, and customer events.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on market trends, opportunities, and strategic progress.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in product and market development within the plastic sheeting industry, with specific expertise in building products and specialty applications.

Skills and Competencies:

· Proven success in launching new products and driving market adoption in construction or specialty markets.

· Strong knowledge of acrylic, polycarbonate, PETG, PVC, and related thermoplastic sheet products.

· Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex development initiatives.

· Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting market data, financials, and customer insights.

· Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
