Overview We are seeking dedicated and skilled Facilities Associates to join our team. This full or part-time role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in various maintenance tasks and facility operations and safety protocol. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently as well as part of a team, providing excellent customer service while maintaining safety and efficiency. Youth development and school-based services experience is a plus!

Job Description
Under the supervision of the chief operating officer and applicable site directors, the Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Staff has direct responsibility for the overall appearance and maintenance of the building and grounds of the various Capital Area YMCA Branch in Trenton, NJ with occasional support of Ewing and Lawrence.

SCHEDULE: 20-25 hours weekly position. Varies, 2 shifts open for 2 possible hires. 7am-3pm; 3pm-9pm. Final hours TBD.

Must always maintain a professional appearance and utilize any needed protective clothing, shoes, eye coverings, etc., to ensure personal and site safety.

Qualifications
· The Facilities Maintenance Staff must have a High School diploma and related experience in Mechanical Repairs, Construction, HVAC, Electrical, Automotive, and/or equivalent training is desired.
· This position may require the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair basic HVAC, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing issues. Pool maintenance and chemical control experience is preferred but will train, if this need arises.
· Should be able to follow direction, work under minimal supervision, and follow a timetable and complete assignments as directed.
· This position requires a working knowledge and practice of the highest safety standards in all areas of responsibility.
· CPR, First Aid, and AED, training within 30 days of employment may be required.
· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
· Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.
· Background check and fingerprints are required.
· Experience with pre-school and youth educational programs is a plus.
Essential Functions
· Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner.
· Work with any applicable contractors and vendors at schools, sites, and on the YMCA grounds.
· Assist with snow removal, lawn care and general cleaning and maintenance activities.
· Event set up.
· Tables and chair placement for classes and meetings.
· Ensure proper working order of equipment within facility and keep standard inventory of necessary repair items required in the facility at all times.
· Complete task list established by COO and directors and check in with status updates re: possible site inspections.
· Follow all safety regulations in accordance with OSHA and all other industry guidelines and procedures.
· Daily communication with supervisor and Branch team regarding status of all custodial and maintenance projects. Flex schedule to match the changing needs of the Branch Facility is desired along with the ability to participate in any needed staff meetings, events, etc.
