Pay: $41,600–$50,000 annually

Position Details

  • Shift schedule: 12-hour weekday shifts and 8-hour weekend shifts.

Your Responsibilities

  • Patient care: Escort patients to examination rooms, obtain and document medical histories, and measure vital signs.
  • Clinical testing: Perform basic laboratory testing and specimen collection, including urinalysis, blood draws, and COVID-19 swabs.
  • Medication administration: Administer medications as directed by a medical provider, within applicable scope and clinic protocols.
  • Administrative support: Greet patients, answer phone calls, verify insurance information, and assist with appointments and patient registration.
  • Clinic readiness: Keep examination rooms clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Teamwork: Support providers and colleagues to maintain efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in a medical setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Clear communication, active listening, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay organized, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified Medical Assistant program is preferred
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting; experience in Urgent Care is preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
  • Willingness to take initiative and responsibility for actions
  • Open to constructive criticism and feedback when necessary
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and third-party vendors

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, equipment, and instruments
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Competence with common PC applications including Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with EKGs and Phlebotomy preferred but not required

  • Occasionally required to sit
  • Occasionally required to walk
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds)
  • Finger dexterity required
  • Hand coordination required
