Job Description

Sales Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Engineer based in the United States.

Help transform healthcare delivery by demonstrating how innovative technology can simplify patient access, communication, and care coordination. As a Sales Engineer, you will bridge the gap between customer needs and technical solutions, partnering with sales teams to guide healthcare organizations through complex purchasing decisions. You will lead product demonstrations, uncover operational challenges, and design solutions that integrate effectively with existing healthcare systems. Working with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders, you will connect technical capabilities to measurable customer value. This remote opportunity combines healthcare technology expertise, consultative selling, and cross-functional collaboration in a growth-oriented SaaS environment. Your work will help healthcare organizations modernize patient experiences and make accessing care easier.

Accountabilities:

As a Sales Engineer, you will support the sales cycle from discovery through solution design and presentation, helping prospective customers understand how technology can address their clinical, operational, and technical challenges.

  • Technical discovery: Engage healthcare organizations to understand their technical requirements, existing systems, workflows, and operational pain points.
  • Product demonstrations: Deliver compelling, tailored demonstrations and presentations that communicate product value and create clear connections between customer needs and proposed solutions.
  • Solution design: Recommend and develop customized solutions that address healthcare clients' requirements and integrate with their existing technology environments.
  • Sales enablement: Provide technical guidance to sales teams, helping them answer customer questions, address objections, differentiate solutions, and advance opportunities.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build trusted relationships with buyers and decision-makers across clinical, operational, and IT teams, adapting communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Workflow analysis: Map current-state patient access and engagement workflows, identify inefficiencies, and demonstrate how proposed solutions can improve performance.
  • Healthcare integrations: Explain and support integration approaches involving electronic health record (EHR) systems, APIs, HL7, FHIR, and webhooks.
  • Proposal development: Independently prepare responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring technical responses are accurate and aligned with customer needs.
  • Competitive positioning: Communicate solution advantages, challenge existing approaches constructively, and help position offerings effectively against competing products.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and product development teams to support go-to-market initiatives and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Continuous improvement: Gather customer and stakeholder feedback to inform product enhancements and improve the effectiveness of sales demonstrations and solution delivery.
  • Productivity and innovation: Use AI tools to improve day-to-day efficiency and identify opportunities to streamline sales engineering activities.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines hands-on healthcare technology experience with strong consultative selling, technical communication, and solution design capabilities. You should understand the architecture of major EHR systems and be comfortable translating complex integration concepts into practical business value.

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer within healthcare technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more major EHR systems, such as Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or MEDITECH, including integration architecture rather than workflow familiarity alone.
  • Demonstrated experience with patient access and engagement workflows, including appointment scheduling, intake, referral management, and patient communication platforms.
  • Solid understanding of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), including eligibility verification, prior authorization, referral workflows, and billing processes.
  • Ability to discuss APIs and integration concepts, including HL7, FHIR, and webhooks, with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience independently preparing and responding to RFPs and RFIs.
  • Strong discovery and analytical skills, including the ability to map existing workflows and connect customer challenges to relevant product capabilities.
  • Excellent presentation and product demonstration skills across clinical, operational, and IT audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility with stakeholders at different levels.
  • Active use of AI tools to improve productivity and identify efficiencies in everyday work.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a startup or high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered voice and messaging products, workflow automation tools, and patient engagement platforms.
  • Experience demonstrating and positioning technology solutions within complex healthcare organizations.

Benefits:

  • Base salary: $120,000–$140,000 annually, depending on work location.
  • Target bonus and stock options in addition to base salary.
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits, with 99% of employee premium costs and 85% of dependent premium costs covered.
  • Flexible time off.
  • Work-life balance support.
  • Wellness programs.
  • Discounts and other employee perks.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Company equity.
  • Remote work arrangement.
  • Opportunity to contribute to technology that improves patient access, engagement, and healthcare delivery.
