Software Engineer P2

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer P2 based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to build and operate scalable cloud-based solutions that power modern customer engagement experiences. As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and improvement of distributed systems using modern engineering practices. Accountabilities:

The Software Engineer P2 will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining cloud-based software solutions while contributing to the scalability, reliability, and continuous improvement of engineering systems.

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based platform services following modern microservices architecture principles.
  • Build and maintain scalable, distributed systems with a strong focus on reliability, security, and performance.
  • Develop high-quality software solutions using Java and modern engineering frameworks.
  • Create automated unit and integration tests while contributing to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, backlog planning, and Agile development ceremonies.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues independently while collaborating with engineering teams on complex problems.
  • Improve existing systems by reducing technical debt and maintaining strong engineering standards.
  • Contribute to system documentation, operational guides, design documentation, and engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to influence technical roadmaps and propose innovative solutions.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to evolving technologies, infrastructure requirements, and business needs.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a software engineer with experience building cloud-native applications, strong technical foundations, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience developing highly available, secure, cloud-based enterprise SaaS applications.
  • Strong programming experience with Java and object-oriented development practices.
  • Experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or similar infrastructure environments.
  • Experience designing and developing scalable, real-time distributed systems using microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, caching systems, and data management practices.
  • Experience implementing automated testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to translate system designs into efficient software implementations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience troubleshooting production issues.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum practices, and iterative software delivery.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to learn quickly, take ownership, and contribute effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark is a plus.
  • Experience deploying applications in multi-region cloud environments and working with customer engagement platforms is desirable.
