Schedule: Monday thru Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Salary Range: $20.00 to $23.00 Hourly
Shop Floor Expeditor

Position Purpose:
Assists Production Schedulers, Supervisors and Managers with managing product flow through the plant. Duties include reviewing and distributing production work; Collaborate with department managers and leads to determine progress of work and completion dates; Utilize available resources to problem solve when issues arise.

Essential Duties:
- Ensure open shop orders are completed by required dates according to the customer order requirements.
- Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, routings and drawings.
- Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
- Help to establish and review priority among open orders to optimize the production schedule.
- Manage short lead time shop orders (RPM), expediting delivery as required.
- Provide the Production Control Team with daily updates for past due and short lead orders.
- Escalate material issues to Production Planning and Scheduling in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the Purchasing Department to advise of raw material shortages as required.
- Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
Education/Qualifications:
- AS degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 3 to 5 years scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment (machine shop experience is a plus).
- Must be methodical, thorough, and a team player
- Understanding of logistics and scheduling
- Understanding of lean concepts
- Excellent organization and communication skills;
- Proficient with ERP/MRP
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Good problem solving skills
Physical Demands:
- Physical demands vary and will include: * Frequently – walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions. * Occasionally – kneeling, squatting, stooping, handling and climbing. * Lifting and pulling-continuously up to 15 pounds, frequently from 15 to 25 pounds, occasionally from 25 to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
The work environment for this position is that of an industrial machine shop/production facility. Employees may experience loud noises, (at varying levels) throughout the workday.
