Job Summary
The Junior Mix Production Worker is responsible for supporting the preparation, mixing, handling, and movement of ingredients used in the production of dry food mixes. This position assists with ingredient staging, weighing, batching, equipment operation, sanitation, documentation, and material handling while ensuring all products meet quality, food safety, and production standards.
The Junior Mix Production Worker follows established recipes and production schedules while maintaining strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, SQF, allergen control procedures, and all company safety requirements.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on manufacturing position requiring attention to detail, teamwork, and accountability.
Responsibilities
Expected Result:
Ingredients are accurately prepared, production schedules are met, and mixes are produced according to specifications.
Expected Result:
100% accurate documentation with complete product traceability.
- Verify ingredient quality before use
- Perform visual inspections throughout production
- Report damaged ingredients, packaging, or quality concerns immediately
- Follow established CCPs and quality procedures
- Support quality inspections during production
- Immediately notify supervision of any food safety concerns
Expected Result:
Consistent production of high-quality products with zero preventable quality defects.
4. Equipment Operation & Sanitation
- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently
- Clean mixing equipment and production areas between batches
- Assist with production changeovers
- Participate in scheduled sanitation and washdowns
- Perform basic equipment cleaning and inspection
- Report equipment issues promptly
Expected Result:
Equipment remains clean, operational, and ready for production while minimizing downtime.
5. Food Safety, GMP & Compliance
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, SQF, and company food safety procedures
- Wear required PPE at all times
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow allergen control and cross-contact prevention procedures
- Participate in required food safety and safety training
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Expected Result:
Audit-ready work areas with zero food safety or GMP violations.

Qualifications:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and write English
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to accurately weigh ingredients
- Ability to perform repetitive physical labor
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred
- Previous food manufacturing or production experience
- Experience working with production equipment
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, or SQF standards
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification)
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Manufacturing production environment
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive lifting, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
- Exposure to food ingredients, dust, and varying temperatures
- Moderate to high noise levels
- Occasional wet conditions during sanitation and washdowns
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as production schedules require
