Salary: Range from $5,909 to $11,209 monthly – commensurate with experience.

Overview:
Performs supervisory/managerial work in the day-to-day operations of the Winchester Road Warehouse; coordinates the statewide distribution of warehouse materials to Secretary of State Offices throughout the state; directs the effectuation of managerial policies and practices; participates in policy development and revision. Requires the ability to lift and carry 0-10 lbs. Requires possession of a valid Illinois Driver’s License.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- As line manager plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the statewide distribution of supplies and materials; supervises the coordination of fulfilling requests to distribute supplies and materials to the twelve regional areas of the state for further distribution to the facilities though out the state; determines, establishes, and implements operational procedures and workflow required for efficient distribution of supplies and materials statewide.
- Exercises responsibility for personnel management of warehouse employees, including assigning daily work tasks, recommending personnel actions affecting subordinate staff; establishing work standards, and evaluating employee performance.
- Works in conjunction with management personnel of other departments that share the warehouse to resolve shipping, receiving, and distribution of supplies and equipment and to assist those personnel in attending to physical and mechanical problems in the warehouse.
- Participates in the development and revision of policies and procedures pertaining to the Winchester warehouse by reviewing current and proposed policies, programs, and procedures to identify any deficiencies, problems, and /or effects on current operations; prepares administrative reports and/or confers with supervisor on findings making recommendations for new/revised policies, programs and procedures; implements new policies and/or procedures affecting section.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years college, preferably with courses in business or public administration and three years of managerial experience in a public or business organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Requires thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration.
- Requires extensive knowledge of functions and organization of State Government.
- Requires working knowledge of the principles of business accounting, program budgeting, personnel management and statistics.
- Requires elementary knowledge of data processing business applications.
- Requires ability to develop and manage a statewide program.
- Requires ability to analyze administrative problems and adopt an effective course of action.
- Requires ability to develop, install and evaluate new and revised methods, procedures and performance standards.
- Requires ability to exercise judgment and discretion in implementing and interpreting departmental policies and procedures.
- Requires ability to estimate and budget for future needs and cost for personnel, space, equipment, supplies and services.
- Requires ability to develop and maintain cooperative managerial working relationships.
- Requires willingness to travel and possession of a valid Illinois driver’s license as required by individual positions within the class.
