KCARC is seeking a highly motivated Employment Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will help individuals with disabilities find, secure, and maintain competitive employment within their communities. You will build relationships with local employers, provide job coaching and support, and create opportunities for individuals to achieve their employment goals.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses and employers.
  • Identify employment opportunities that align with each individual's skills, interests, and goals.
  • Coordinate job placement activities and assist with the hiring process.
  • Provide training, job coaching, and ongoing support to individuals in community-based employment settings.
  • Monitor progress and collaborate with employers to ensure successful employment outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service records.
  • Work with families, case managers, and support teams to promote individual success.
  • Advocate for inclusion, independence, and meaningful employment opportunities.
What We're Looking For

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in human services, vocational rehabilitation, employment services, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in a related field is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

Requirements: Qualifications & Requirements

A successful applicant will have experience in job coaching, training, and employee development, with the ability to support individuals in achieving and maintaining successful employment outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, experience with documentation and recordkeeping, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Experience in job coaching, training, employee development, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with individuals, employers, families, and community partners.
  • Experience completing reports, documentation, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills to help identify and develop employment opportunities.
  • The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs.
  • A commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their employment goals.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
