Job Description
The Lead Patient Care Nursing Assistant manages the everyday clerical needs of the Nursing department while assisting the Office Coordinator in the overseeing of Patient Care Nursing Assistants. Provides direction and delegation to Patient Care Nursing Assistants in the absence of the Office Coordinator. Serves as initial contact with patients in need of services from the nursing and medical department. Answer and directs phone calls appropriately. Utilizes skills in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, Telehealth platforms (Zoom for Healthcare), and Microsoft Office Suite to perform patient scheduling tasks and organize provider schedules. Coordinates outpatient tele-health appointments. Supports physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other staff in the delivery of quality care while following established standards and procedures. Will perform various patient care activities and related services under the direction of licensed staff. Duties include assisting with ADL's, vitals, EKGs, drug screens, patient searches, glucose checks, venipuncture and other patient care duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Medical Assistant (MA), Nursing Assistant (NA), Medical Secretary, or Patient Care Technician (PCT) preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families and employees. Excellent organizational, communication, and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to establish priorities.
- Skills in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, Telehealth platforms (Zoom for Healthcare), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Requires knowledge of patient experience and medical office functions.
- Requires ability to guide members of a unit and work successfully within a team.
- Demonstrates leadership ability, effective decision making and problem-solving skills.
Required Length and Type of Experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in a primary care office, hospital; or urgent care center preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills required.
- Knowledge of EMR preferred.
- Must be able to prioritize and cope with stress in a positive manner.
Required Licensure or Certification
- Medical Assistant (MA), Nursing Assistant (NA), Medical Secretary, or Patient Care Technician (PCT) preferred.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
