Job Description

VP, Product

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP, Product based in United States.

This is the most senior product management role in the organization, with broad ownership across a portfolio of product lines.
You will lead Group Product Managers who operate as general managers for their respective businesses, with accountability for revenue, retention, and growth.
The role sits at the intersection of product strategy, commercial performance, customer experience, and portfolio investment.
You will shape how product opportunities are evaluated, prioritized, funded, and delivered based on customer evidence and business outcomes.
The position requires close partnership with Engineering, Finance, Revenue Operations, Go-to-Market, Customer Success, and Operations.
You will also develop product leaders, strengthen organizational capabilities, and establish a consistent operating model across the portfolio.
This is a remote-first leadership opportunity for an experienced product executive comfortable operating in a fast-growing, founder-led environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the overall Product Management organization and establish strategic direction across a portfolio of product businesses.
  • Manage and develop a team of Group Product Managers, enabling them to operate as general managers with clear business accountability.
  • Establish product priorities around revenue growth, retention, customer acquisition, unit economics, and long-term portfolio value.
  • Own the mechanisms and strategies required to increase attach rates across the core product portfolio.
  • Drive expansion of newer product lines and increase their contribution to overall revenue.
  • Establish clear accountability for retention and new-logo acquisition, including attribution to product initiatives and business drivers.
  • Improve portfolio unit economics while balancing profitability with sustainable growth.
  • Rationalize the product roadmap as an intentional allocation of investment against measurable business outcomes.
  • Ensure product discovery is adequately funded and protected, with prioritization informed by customer and demand-side evidence.
  • Build a product operating model where investment decisions are transparent, evidence-based, and understood across the organization.
  • Establish clear enrollment, revenue, and retention accountability for product leaders within their respective domains.
  • Define, test, and scale mechanisms that improve customer adoption and product attach rates.
  • Use business reviews and performance data to identify what is working, what needs to change, and where investment should shift.
  • Maintain accountability for outcomes that depend on cross-functional execution rather than treating product delivery as a handoff.
  • Partner with Engineering on capacity, feasibility, and delivery while maintaining Product ownership of business outcomes and priorities.
  • Work with Finance and Revenue Operations on unit economics, attribution, pricing, packaging, and portfolio margin.
  • Partner with Go-to-Market teams on positioning, distribution strategy, acquisition, and commercial growth mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Operations to understand retention drivers, post-sale experiences, service constraints, and adoption barriers.
  • Provide Product Management leadership and perspective on company-level strategic questions that extend beyond the product organization.
  • Raise the quality and capability of product talent through coaching, development, and high performance standards.
  • Make timely decisions in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments while adapting direction when customer evidence warrants it.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple product lines simultaneously as distinct businesses, with individual revenue, margin, and growth accountability.
  • Experience operating across a portfolio during a period of rapid growth and organizational change rather than only in a steady-state environment.
  • Proven experience leading a product organization of 20+ people, including a layer of product leaders.
  • Track record of developing product managers into business-oriented general managers and product leaders.
  • Direct experience carrying revenue and margin accountability for a product line, rather than delivery accountability alone.
  • Experience working within a founder-led organization experiencing rapid growth and evolving strategic priorities.
  • Strong commercial orientation with fluency in revenue, customer lifetime value, unit economics, retention, acquisition, and market opportunity.
  • Experience partnering directly with Go-to-Market and Finance leadership on pricing, packaging, and commercial strategy.
  • Strong product strategy and portfolio management capabilities, including investment allocation and roadmap prioritization.
  • Ability to establish clear prioritization methodologies and explain trade-offs, displaced initiatives, costs, and expected outcomes.
  • Strong customer discovery and evidence-based decision-making skills.
  • Ability to change direction when customer or market evidence contradicts an existing product strategy.
  • Strong analytical and business judgment, with the ability to interpret business reviews and translate findings into actionable direction.
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to align Engineering, Finance, RevOps, GTM, Customer Success, and Operations.
  • Strong executive communication and influence skills across technical and commercial functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively with imperfect information, ambiguity, and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Strong talent development and organizational leadership capabilities.
  • High ownership mindset, with accountability for outcomes beyond direct organizational control.
  • Ability to work remotely with reliable high-speed internet and a distraction-free home working environment.
  • Availability to participate in required bi-annual in-person company meetings in January and July, with business travel covered.
  • Availability during scheduled working hours.
Benefits:
  • Remote-first, work-from-home position available anywhere in the United States.
  • Open paid time off and sick days.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Required bi-annual in-person company meetings in January and July, with business travel covered.
  • Diverse, inclusive, supportive, and growth-focused work environment.
  • Opportunity to lead product strategy across a growing portfolio and help shape a developing category.
  • Significant executive-level influence across product, commercial strategy, and organizational growth.
  • Opportunity to develop and mentor a team of product leaders and strengthen product management capabilities.
  • Exposure to a customer-focused technology platform designed to simplify resident onboarding and services.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a mission focused on improving the rental experience for residents, property managers, and investors.
