About the Facility

Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to build a new manufacturing facility in Greenville County, South Carolina.

This 1-million-square-foot, state-of-the-art production plant, located on more than 200 acres, will feature a flexible manufacturing line capable of producing both internal combustion and electric vehicles.

Position Summary

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting the administration and coordination of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to promote a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. This role assists with new hire orientation, safety training, regulatory compliance, documentation, incident reporting, and employee engagement initiatives while partnering with operations and leadership to support continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate new hire safety orientation, onboarding activities, and required EHS training to ensure employees receive appropriate safety instruction prior to beginning work
  • Schedule, track, and maintain employee training records, certifications, and compliance documentation to support regulatory and company requirements
  • Assist with the development, coordination, and delivery of EHS training programs, safety meetings, and employee awareness initiatives
  • Support implementation and administration of environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, safety observations, and facility audits; document findings and assist with corrective action follow-up
  • Assist with incident investigations by gathering information, maintaining documentation, tracking corrective actions, and supporting root cause analysis activities
  • Maintain EHS records, reports, permits, documentation, OSHA logs, training files, and other compliance-related documentation
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare reports, summaries, and compliance documentation for leadership review
  • Coordinate personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory, distribution, and compliance activities
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, evacuation drills, safety committees, and environmental compliance initiatives
  • Partner with Human Resources, Operations, Maintenance, and leadership to promote a positive safety culture and reinforce safe work practices throughout the facility
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety, environmental compliance, ergonomics, and risk reduction
  • Promote 5S, standard work, and safe workplace practices throughout the facility
  • Follow and support all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies while performing daily responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support company and department goals
Required Skills
  • Associate's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting environmental, health, and safety programs in a manufacturing, warehouse, automotive, or industrial environment
  • Experience coordinating employee training, onboarding, safety documentation, or regulatory compliance activities preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications; experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or EHS management software preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and workplace safety principles
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver employee safety training and presentations
  • Ability to maintain confidential records and regulatory documentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to analyze information and support corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
