Quality Improvement Director in San Juan Capistrano, California at Mission Hospital Camino Health Center

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and according to general directions, the primary responsibility of the Quality Improvement Director is the overall organization, implementation, and administration of Camino Health Center’s Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs. Quality improvement and risk management responsibilities include researching best practices, developing new or enhancing existing quality improvement activities, implementing new or modifying existing quality control and workflow processes, developing standard work and engaging staff in continuous improvement activities, facilitating trainings to health center personnel, monitoring progress towards desired quality goals, and reporting outcomes to stakeholders. Responsible for the general oversight of the program requirements for Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) and Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) programs. Assumes a lead role in preparing for and facilitating health plan and public funder audits as well as responding to formal patient grievances. In collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer, provides administrative oversight of assigned clinical performance measures and partners with the clinic team to implement activities to improve outcomes. This is a temporary position expected to last approximately two to three months.

Job Responsibilities

• Developing new or enhancing existing quality improvement activities, implementing new or modifying existing quality control and workflow processes, developing standard work and engaging staff in continuous improvement activities, facilitating trainings to health center personnel, monitoring progress towards desired quality goals, and reporting outcomes to stakeholder
• In collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer, provides administrative oversight of assigned clinical performance measures and partners with the clinic team to implement activities to improve outcomes. Responsible for embracing and fostering a culture of excellent customer service in the spirit of the health center’s core values. Supervises the Program Manager.
• Coordinates the implementation of (NCQA) Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) recognition program initiatives.
• Coordinates with the Chief Medical Officer to develop, implement and facilitate ongoing quality assurance and peer-review programs.
• Leads process improvement activities to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of health center services.
• Analyzes patient satisfaction data and leads activities designed to improve the patient experience.
• Creates an annual training calendar and coordinates the delivery of ongoing quality improvement and risk management trainings.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Health or related field. Master's degree strongly preferred.
• Experience / Training: A minimum of two years of related experience in a health center with tact and diplomacy. Supervisory experience. setting; must demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, leadership skills, and strong interpersonal skills; must be able to approach staff about quality issues
• License / Certification: LVN or RN strongly preferred.

Salary: $135,000- 150,000/year based on experience.
