Job Description
At FieldFlō, we’re not just building powerful software for the construction industry — we’re building a culture where passion, grit, and creativity thrive. Our international team is scrappy, driven, and full of heart. We roll up our sleeves, take ownership, and deliver real results for our clients — and we have a damn good time doing it.
We believe that excellence doesn’t have to be boring. Whether we’re solving complex problems or celebrating a win, we bring energy, humor, and a whole lot of team spirit. If you’re looking for a place where your ideas matter, your impact is visible, and your teammates have your back, you’ve found it.
Come join us and help shape the future of construction tech.
FieldFlō is building the operating system for demolition, abatement, and remediation contractors. We're replacing paper timesheets, manual safety forms, and disconnected payroll with one digital platform. Our integration layer keeps employee, project, and payroll data in sync between FieldFlō and the ERP and accounting systems our clients use.
We're looking for a Tech Lead, Integrations to own our integration platform from end to end. This isn't a role where you advise from the sidelines or hand work off. You'll set the technical direction, write code every day, and be accountable for whether our integrations work. You'll also be the person our clients trust: you'll join calls with contractors, explain how their sync works, fix what's broken, and help them feel confident enough to stop using paper.
If you want full ownership of a critical system and you're as comfortable on a customer call as you are in the codebase, this role is for you.
What you'll own
The integration platform, end to end
- Own the architecture, roadmap, and long-term vision for the integration layer, in line with the broader platform standards set by our Lead Architect.
- Evolve the platform into a productized framework so new connectors can be stood up in weeks, not months.
- Evaluate build vs. partner vs. iPaaS strategies and make recommendations to engineering leadership.
Hands-on development
- Build, maintain, and debug sync connectors, and step in directly when urgent issues come up.
- Develop new API endpoints and lead proofs of concept that set the pattern for future connectors.
- Design reconciliation logic that automatically flags payroll and position mismatches and guides clients through fixing them.
Our integration partner
- Provide architectural direction and technical oversight to our current integration partner.
- Define quality standards, review their implementations, and own the technical quality of every connector.
Client relationships and escalations
- Be the primary technical escalation point for all integration issues, whether they come from clients, CS, our partner, or internal teams.
- Join client calls to troubleshoot, explain sync behavior in plain language, and build trust in the platform.
- Work directly with ERP vendor technical contacts and partner with Product, CS, and Engineering on integration specs.
Reliability and monitoring
- Build a real-time sync health dashboard for CS that shows status, errors, lag, and entity counts across all connectors.
- Set up alerting: sync errors notify CS right away, and delays over 24 hours escalate. Show sync status in the client portal.
- Lead the on-call rotation for sync issues. Critical failures, CVEs, and production incidents may need a response in minutes.
API advocacy and documentation
- Represent integration needs in API design across teams, since integrations are the largest consumer of the FieldFlō API.
- Own the integration API documentation, including specs, versioning, schemas, and usage guides, and keep it current with every release.
- Maintain an integration registry (each client's ERP, version, sync tool, and configuration), plus runbooks and troubleshooting guides for each connector.
Systems you'll work with: QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Sage 100/300/Intacct, Foundation, Vista Viewpoint, COINS, Acumatica, Procore, Trimble, Paycor, and Plexxis.
What success looks like- New sync clients reach their first payroll export in under 20 days, regardless of ERP.
- The sync dashboard shows 99%+ uptime with under 5 minutes of lag, and CS can check status without pulling in engineering.
- Our integration partner has clear direction and quality standards from FieldFlō.
- There's a clear roadmap toward a productized platform, and new connectors launch in weeks.
- The client registry, runbooks, and API docs are complete and current.
- Critical sync issues get resolved within minutes during US business hours, and clients trust the integration layer enough to retire paper.
- 7+ years of software development, with significant hands-on integration architecture experience.
- Production experience integrating with multiple ERP, payroll, or accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage, Foundation, Viewpoint, COINS, Acumatica, or similar).
- Experience designing sync architectures with state management, conflict resolution, and partial-failure recovery across cloud and on-prem environments.
- A track record of owning a technical domain end to end and being accountable for its results.
- Experience providing technical direction and oversight to external development teams or partners.
- Strong hands-on coding skills. You build integrations, endpoints, and proofs of concept every day.
- Confidence in client-facing conversations, including explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. Excellent English (C1/C2) required.
- Availability during US business hours with Central or Eastern time overlap, plus flexibility for urgent issues outside those hours.
- The ability to hold strong opinions loosely and work within platform-wide architectural standards.
- Direct experience with two or more of the systems listed above.
- On-prem sync experience (desktop sync agents, .NET connectors, RDP environments).
- Experience moving an integration platform from professional-services delivery to a productized, scalable model.
- Familiarity with construction trades, especially demolition, abatement, or remediation.
- Experience with iPaaS tools (MuleSoft, Workato, Dell Boomi) or CRM integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce).
