Function of Position:
The Dental Studies Program Coordinator is a grant-funded, one-year position that provides administrative, operational, programmatic, and accreditation-related support to the Dental Studies programs. Working under the direction of the Dental Studies Program Director, the Coordinator assists with activities that support program operations, accreditation readiness and compliance, student requirements, community and professional partnerships, program visibility, and continuous program improvement. The scope and assignment of duties may be modified during the appointment to respond to changing accreditation requirements, grant objectives, program priorities, and operational needs.
The position is designed to provide flexible support based on evolving program priorities, accreditation requirements, grant objectives, and operational needs. Responsibilities may change throughout the appointment based on the needs of the Dental Studies programs and at the direction of the Program Director.
*This is a one-year, grant-funded part-time appointment. Continuation of the position beyond the appointment period is contingent upon available funding, program needs, institutional approval, and other applicable requirements.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the Program Director and faculty with ongoing program operations, accreditation activities, documentation, and special projects.
- Assist with the collection, organization, tracking, maintenance, and preparation of data and documentation related to Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) requirements and continuous accreditation compliance.
- Monitor Dental Studies program webpages and other publicly available program information for accuracy, consistency, currency, and alignment with applicable accreditation and institutional requirements; coordinate identified updates with appropriate college personnel.
- Assist with preparation for accreditation activities, reports, surveys, reviews, and site visits as directed by the Program Director.
- Support the program through the maintenance of program records, reports, assessment information, supporting documentation, and other materials needed for program administration and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and support program marketing, recruitment, outreach, and community engagement activities, including preparation for and attendance at appropriate events.
- Assist with maintaining a consistent program presence through weekly social media activity and other approved communication and outreach strategies.
- Serve as a liaison, as assigned, between the Dental Studies programs and professional dental organizations, dental societies, community partners, external educational and clinical sites, and other program stakeholders.
- Assist with the coordination of program-sponsored events, professional activities, student events, community outreach initiatives, advisory activities, and other program functions.
- Support communication, scheduling, documentation, and coordination associated with external clinical, educational, observational, community, and partnership sites.
- Assist with monitoring, documenting, and communicating student program compliance requirements, including required credentials, certifications, training, health or safety documentation, and other program requirements as applicable.
- Support faculty and students with program-related administrative processes and activities within the scope of the position.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives that advance the goals and operational needs of the Dental Studies programs.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dental Studies Program Director to directly support the Dental Studies programs.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current mandated reporter training/certification as required by New York State.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, maintain accurate records, and follow projects through completion.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with faculty, staff, students, community partners, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with commonly used office and digital technologies and the ability to learn college and program-specific systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Experience in dental hygiene education, clinical education, higher education, or a related educational setting.
- Knowledge of educational methods, assessment, accreditation, or continuous quality improvement.
- Experience with CODA-accredited dental or allied dental education programs.
- Experience with data collection, documentation, reporting, spreadsheets, databases, websites, social media, or other digital communication platforms.
- Experience coordinating programs, projects, events, community partnerships, or professional activities.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, adaptable, organized, and responsive to changing program priorities.
Additional Information:
Salary: $45-$47/hourly
Hours: 20-23 hours per week

This position involves primarily sedentary work, including prolonged periods of computer use and keyboarding. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. The position may involve occasionally lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds. Work is performed in a typical office environment with no adverse conditions. Occasional travel between campus buildings or to other local or out-of-town locations for meetings or conferences may be required.
