Supervisor - Inventory Control Department (1st shift varying start times (6am to 8am) depending on work in Plattsburgh, New York at SCHLUTER SYSTEMS L.P.

Starting Salary: $65,000.00

Job Summary:

Accountable for leading and directing the daily activities of the inventory control team within the Plattsburgh campus. This role requires a hands-on approach to leadership that sets the pace and standard for success and serves as a role model for the team.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Safety – Supports a culture of Safety 1st throughout the facility by delivering safety instructions, training, and follow-up ensuring compliance with all established safety procedures and OSHA requirements. Monitors and ensures a clean, neat and orderly work environment for all associates applying 5S principles.

· Quality – Leads with a commitment to total internal and external customer satisfaction.

· People – Recruits, identifies and develops talent both internally and externally to build a strong talent pipeline within the facility and organization. Consistently administer and enforce company/facility policies and procedures. Understand, instill and grow the Schluter Culture among team members. Always represent self and Schluter Systems L.P. in a professional and positive manner.

· Operations – Leads, plans and directs the daily activities of a team of associates to support the efficient operation of the assigned areas. Develop effective working relationships with internal and external departments, enabling coordination and communication activities and workflow to ensure team/facility goals are achieved.

· Continuous Improvement – Applies and fosters a lean and continuous improvement mentality in all aspects of the operations. Generate, investigate, and support continuous improvement initiatives while actively engaging associates in the process to develop a culture of sustained excellence.

· Complete other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

· College degree preferred

· Five plus years of warehouse experience with at least two in a leadership role leading front line associates

· Customer focused mentality

· Demonstrated understanding of warehouse processes and workflow

· Experience in cultivating a Continuous Improvement environment. Lean experience a plus.

· Strong team problem solving skills

· Proven ability to identify, motivate and coach a team to achieve department/facility goals

· Strong ability to learn and use warehouse management tools and software systems (ERP/MRP/WMS) to support daily operations

· Competence in using computer equipment including Microsoft Office suite products

· Strong work ethic with a demonstrated commitment to doing what’s right

· Familiarity with and ability to use a wide variety of material handling equipment, including but not limited to electric and liquid propane forklifts, order pickers and walkie riders

· Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time

· Must be able to multi-task and shift priorities easily
