ELLKAY is now a trusted data management partner in five healthcare segments. ELLKAY’s solutions continue to serve laboratories and ambulatory practices and have expanded to empower hospitals and health systems, healthcare IT vendors, ambulatory practices, health plans, and other healthcare organizations with cutting-edge technologies and solutions that drive their growth and interoperability strategies.
Today, ELLKAY remains true to our core values, building strong partner relationships and offering unparalleled service and support while providing innovative, scalable solutions to the challenges our customers face in today’s data-rich world.
ELLKAY's experience, customer-focused approach, and reputation for innovation, speed, and accuracy differentiate ELLKAY as a premier partner for your interoperability needs and data management strategy.
- Define and maintain ELLKAY's enterprise architecture strategy, technology standards, and multi-year technology roadmap spanning Microsoft Azure cloud, Corporate HQ network, and the physical data center.
- Manage, mentor, and set priorities for the Helpdesk team, including staffing, performance management, escalation handling, and ensuring end-user support meets defined service level agreements (SLAs).
- Architect and lead enterprise data migration initiatives end-to-end, including cloud migrations, system consolidations, and data center transitions, defining target-state architecture, migration approach, risk mitigation strategies, and post-migration validation.
- Establish architectural governance and design standards for servers, virtualization, storage area networks (SAN), backup/disaster recovery, and network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Evaluate and design Azure cloud architecture patterns, including compute, storage, networking, and identity (Azure AD/Entra ID), optimizing for scalability, resiliency, and cost-efficiency.
- Provide architectural oversight of the physical data center and Corporate HQ network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems, ensuring designs support reliability and future growth.
- Lead architecture review sessions for major infrastructure and application initiatives, ensuring proposed solutions align with enterprise standards, security requirements, and long-term strategy.
- Partner with the Information Security team and CISO to embed security architecture principles, patch management standards, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2) into enterprise designs.
- Define enterprise standards for identity and access management (IAM), including provisioning/de-provisioning frameworks, role-based access control, and privileged access governance.
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture documentation, reference diagrams, standard operating procedures, and disaster recovery/business continuity architecture.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging infrastructure and cloud technologies, presenting business cases and adoption roadmaps to senior leadership.
- Serve as the senior technical escalation point for critical incidents affecting Azure, HQ network, or data center systems, guiding root-cause analysis and long-term architectural remediation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure or IT architecture roles, including hands-on and design-level experience with Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, networking, identity/Entra ID).
- Prior experience directly managing or leading a Helpdesk or IT support team, including staffing, performance management, and SLA oversight.
- Demonstrated experience architecting and leading enterprise data migration projects (e.g., cloud migrations, system consolidations, data center transitions) from design through post-migration validation.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF) and demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise networking, virtualization (e.g., VMware or Hyper-V), Windows Server/Active Directory, storage architecture, and backup/disaster recovery design.
- Relevant certifications preferred, such as TOGAF, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS/Azure equivalent architecture certifications, or PMP.
- Working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks relevant to healthcare data and IT environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST) and ability to partner effectively with Information Security on architecture decisions.
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical roadmaps to senior leadership and manage team members simultaneously.
- Availability to respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in an on-call rotation as required.
