Spiritual Renewal Center (SRC) Kitchen and Housekeeping Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist designated kitchen department and crew. This dual role is essential for ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and that guests receive high-quality meals. Delivers quality, timely food to ensure that all customers are satisfied. Assist designated housekeeping department and crew. This dual role is essential for providing a welcoming and organized environment for guests during their stay and maintains high standards of cleanliness and guest/customer satisfaction.

Applicant must clear Texas/National Background Check, Fingerprint and Driving Check in order to be considered.

I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support kitchen operations:

Support the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food in a clean, safe, and efficient manner

Assist the unloading of delivered food supplies

Ensure adequate stock levels and report shortages to supervisor/administration

Coordination of ordering and replacement of consumables in regard to supplies and equipment

Assist new staff/contract staff with kitchen tasks and providing guidance on proper food handling and preparation

Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain a safe kitchen

Support housekeeping operations:

Maintain cleanliness

Responsible for cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to uphold hygiene standards to maintain a comfortable environment

Show capacity to manage supplies and prioritize tasks effectively

Dual department support operations:

Process guest requests

Respond to spontaneous guest needs and provide assistance as requested

Provide excellent service to guests and address any complaints or requests

Ensure adequate stock levels

Report shortages to supervisor/administration

Coordinate order and replacement of consumables in regard to supplies and equipment

Report needed repairs and unsafe conditions

Monitor and maintain cleaning equipment

Ensure all buildings/rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards

II. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent

• Preferred cook, and housekeeping experience

• Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read, and write)

• Required retreat work schedule variations from regular week schedule

• Must have adequate, available and reliable transportation

• Compassionate personality, patient, responsible and committed to assisting others

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, multi-task and manage time both independently and as part of a team
