Job Description
The Data Engineer works with a multidisciplinary Agile team to build and maintain high-quality data pipelines that support KLAS’s research, operations, and public web application, and will be key in supporting current and future reporting and analytic solutions.What You’ll Do

- Build and optimize secure, reusable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory and other tools.Integrate data from varied sources and develop data models for analytics, operations, and reporting.Create data quality checks, monitoring, and processes to keep data accurate, consistent, and reliable.Prepare well-structured datasets for reporting, statistical analysis, and machine learning.Work with Engineering, analysts, product managers, and business partners to translate needs into scalable data solutions.Troubleshoot pipeline issues, support root cause analysis, and improve automation, performance, and cost efficiency.Contribute to code reviews, testing, CI/CD deployments, and technical documentation.Communicate progress and blockers, manage shifting priorities, and help teams use data products effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.Experience building and maintaining production ETL/ELT pipelines, data workflows, and data models.Proficiency with SQL, preferably PostgreSQL, and Python.Understanding of data modeling, database normalization, and data warehouse or data lake concepts.Experience with cloud data platforms; Azure is preferred.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to deliver quality work amid changing priorities.Cloud experience a plus
