What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is reliable, mechanically curious, safety-conscious, and willing to learn. For a Level I candidate, we can provide training and development opportunities for the right person. A Level II candidate should be able to contribute more independently to vibration data collection, analysis, troubleshooting, and customer recommendations.

If you enjoy working with machinery, solving problems, and helping prevent costly equipment failures, we would like to hear from you.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Vibration Analyst – Level I or Level II to join our team in the Cleveland, Ohio area. This position is responsible for collecting and analyzing vibration data on rotating machinery and industrial equipment to identify developing mechanical problems and help our customers improve equipment reliability. Ability to align drive trains and balance fans is a must.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, comfortable working in industrial environments, and interested in developing their skills in predictive maintenance and condition monitoring.

Applicants must currently live within the Cleveland, Ohio area or surrounding communities and be able to reliably report to our Cleveland office and customer sites. Relocation to the area may be considered, but this is not a remote position.

This role requires flexibility in scheduling. Overtime and weekend work should be expected, particularly when customer requirements, shutdowns, outages, or equipment conditions require it.

Responsibilities

  • Collect vibration and other predictive-maintenance data on rotating and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform vibration analysis to identify abnormal operating conditions and potential equipment failures.
  • Assist with identifying issues such as imbalance, misalignment, looseness, bearing defects, resonance, and other mechanical problems.
  • Generate clear and accurate equipment condition reports and recommendations.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to customers, maintenance personnel, and internal team members.
  • Perform field inspections and troubleshoot machinery in industrial environments.
  • Maintain accurate equipment routes, measurement data, and analysis records.
  • Assist with other condition-monitoring technologies and reliability activities as needed.
  • Follow all company and customer safety requirements.
  • Travel to customer facilities as required.
  • Work overtime, weekends, shutdowns, and outages when required by customer needs.
  • Align equipment using Easy laser tool.
Requirements:

Level I Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in vibration analysis, predictive maintenance, reliability, maintenance, or a related industrial field.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn vibration analysis and machinery diagnostics.
  • Ability to understand basic mechanical concepts and equipment operation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in industrial environments.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn specialized vibration-analysis software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or relevant training is a plus.
  • Ability to pass customer-required safety training and meet site-access requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Level II Requirements

  • 2+ years of practical experience performing vibration analysis and/or predictive maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze vibration data on rotating equipment.
  • Working knowledge of common machinery failure modes and vibration signatures.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and provide practical maintenance recommendations.
  • Experience with vibration-analysis software and data-collection systems.
  • Vibration certification such as ISO Category I or II is preferred.
  • Experience with other predictive technologies—such as infrared thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis, or motor testing—is a plus.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.

Physical & Work Environment: This position involves working at industrial and manufacturing facilities and may require:

  • Standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and working around operating machinery.
  • Working in environments that may include noise, heat, dust, vibration, and other industrial conditions.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Working at customer sites during planned outages, shutdowns, and emergency situations.
  • Occasional extended workdays, night work, and weekends based on customer requirements.
