Manager- Client Accounting Services

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager – Client Accounting Services based in United States.

This remote leadership role oversees outsourced accounting engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
You will operate as a trusted Controller or Accounting Manager, guiding financial operations and reporting.
The position combines technical accounting expertise with client advisory, project management, and team leadership.
You will drive accurate month-end closes, strengthen processes, and provide insights that support better business decisions.
Working across accounting, tax, audit, and advisory functions, you will help deliver integrated client solutions.

Accountabilities:

As a Manager, Client Accounting Services, you will oversee accounting engagements from financial reporting through process improvement and client advisory. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary Controller or Accounting Manager for assigned clients and oversee their accounting functions.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy, GAAP compliance, and quality.
  • Analyze financial results, trends, and variances and provide actionable insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Establish, document, and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and workflows to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor for financial and operational matters.
  • Coordinate client deliverables, deadlines, engagement scope, and priorities through effective project management.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
  • Assist with accounting system implementations, transitions, and accounting clean-up projects.
  • Collaborate with tax, audit, and advisory teams to provide integrated client solutions.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop staff and senior team members while providing ongoing feedback and maintaining accountability for engagement quality.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and contribute to business development within Client Accounting Services.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies across engagements.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with leadership, client management, and organizational skills. You should be comfortable managing multiple engagements while operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting, consulting, or outsourced accounting services.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience serving as a Controller or Accounting Manager across multiple clients or business units.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP platforms.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and competing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and client service capabilities, with the ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Servant-leadership mindset focused on employee engagement, development, and positive team culture.
  • Solutions-focused approach with the ability to develop, communicate, and implement practical solutions.
