Supplier Engagement Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Supplier Engagement Specialist based in United States.

This role plays a central part in strengthening supplier relationships and supporting a reliable, compliant, and innovative supply chain.
You will help manage the supplier lifecycle from sourcing and qualification through onboarding, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
The position places a strong emphasis on expanding engagement with certified Small, Sustainable, Local, and USA-made businesses.
You will combine analytical reporting with stakeholder collaboration to improve supplier performance and operational efficiency.
Working across Procurement, Compliance, Risk, Accounts Payable, Administration, and other teams, you will help ensure smooth supplier processes.
You will also use ERP systems, supplier portals, and reporting tools to maintain accurate data and provide actionable insights.
This is a full-time remote opportunity for an organized, analytical, and relationship-focused professional who can work independently in a dynamic environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Support supplier sourcing and market research, with a particular focus on identifying certified Small, Sustainable, Local, and USA-made businesses.
  • Process, screen, and coordinate incoming requests for new supplier qualifications while proactively identifying opportunities to expand the certified supplier network.
  • Support supplier onboarding by collecting required documentation, creating supplier records in the ERP system, and ensuring payment and freight terms are accurately captured.
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Risk, Accounts Payable, Administration, and other internal stakeholders to facilitate supplier qualification and onboarding.
  • Track and analyze supplier KPIs, including on-time delivery, backorder rates, price alignment, and match exceptions.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and supporting data for formal supplier performance reviews and assist with tracking follow-up actions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for routine supplier inquiries and communications, escalating complex matters such as credit holds and disputes when required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by monitoring supplier progress, documenting outcomes, and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Monitor supplier profiles and conduct routine compliance checks against organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records and support risk mitigation and contingency planning activities.
  • Administer the supplier module within the ERP system, including workflow management, record updates, and data integrity.
  • Extract, analyze, and format supplier data to create performance reports, dashboards, and stakeholder presentations, including reporting on certified supplier categories.
  • Manage supplier program applications and maintain certification documentation for participating businesses.
  • Execute supplier portal updates, including posting announcements and RFP opportunities as directed.
  • Maintain supplier-facing webpage content to ensure information remains accurate and current.
  • Conduct annual Supplier Engagement Performance Reviews and contribute to additional projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Demonstrated analytical reporting capabilities across financial, product usage, operational, or similar data.
  • Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures and an understanding of supplier engagement processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across different business levels and lead meetings when required.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with the capacity to prioritize, evaluate, and resolve complex issues in an environment with shifting priorities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively with remote teams and a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing assignments, and build strong relationships with internal business partners.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple business portals and technology platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in supplier sourcing, purchasing, or supplier engagement is preferred.
  • Results-oriented mindset with strong motivation and initiative.
  • Knowledge of database principles and system architecture is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Supplier.io is an advantage.
  • Experience analyzing PeopleSoft and supplier engagement data is preferred.
