ACE Floral Manager in Sauk City, Wisconsin at Niemann Foods

SUMMARY

The Floral Manager manages department operations including but not limited to maximizing gross margins, promoting sales, controlling inventory and expenses. The Floral Manager's responsibilities cover the overall operation and success of the floral department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides amazing customer service
• Along with Store Director, understand and control financial process of the Floral Department
• Responsible for budgeted sales, gross profit, labor and CTO.
• Knows seasonality and care of plant and flowers
• Designs floral arrangements
• Assist in Garden Center as needed
• Quality assurance checks of department
• Proper handling and rotation of product
• Works within company programs, policies and procedures.
• Trains and develops floral team
• Promotes and supports established programs
• Day to day operational procedures to ensure stock level, inventory, and cleanliness
• Communicates with and receive product from approved vendors
• Promote sales
• Enforces safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model
• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Directly supervises Associates.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• One to three months related experience and/or training
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to work with Supermarket math concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, distribution, penetration, gross profit, and Sales Per Associate Hour.

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PAY RANGE (depends on industry experience)

$17 up to $22/hour (IL & MN Locations Only)

Starting pay will be based on experience, internal equity, and scope of responsibility.
