Job Description
Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. COTALAND is an amusement park with over 30 attractions and experiences, including first-of-their-kind roller coasters.
Position Summary
The Event Operations Crew Member supports the setup, breakdown, reset, and daily operational readiness of Circuit of The Americas. This position assists with track rentals, hospitality events, private events, concerts, public events, race weekends, and other venue operations.
The Crew Member performs hands-on physical work, including moving and staging event equipment, maintaining event spaces, and supporting operational needs throughout the property. This position requires flexibility, dependability, teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced event environment.
This is a part-time position with varying schedules based on event and operational needs, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and extended event shifts.
Requirements:- Assist with event and venue setup, breakdown, strike, and resets according to event plans, diagrams, schedules, and supervisor direction.
- Move, stage, transport, and store event equipment and assets, including tables, chairs, furniture, barricades, bike racks, traffic cones, signage, umbrellas, tents, sandbags, flags, and related equipment.
- Support the daily cleanliness, organization, appearance, and operational readiness of assigned event and venue areas.
- Load, unload, organize, inventory, and properly store department equipment and assets.
- Assist with track rentals, hospitality events, private events, concerts, public events, race weekends, and other COTA operations as assigned.
- Inspect equipment and assets during use and report damaged, missing, unsafe, or improperly placed items to Event Operations leadership.
- Safely operate COTA vehicles and equipment when properly trained and authorized.
- Follow COTA safety policies, Event Operations procedures, radio protocols, and supervisor instructions.
- Communicate task status, operational concerns, safety issues, or resource needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid driver's license or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Must be available to work varying schedules based on event and operational needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended event shifts.
- Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
- Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced event environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Must demonstrate dependability, professionalism, teamwork, and respect for COTA property, coworkers, guests, clients, and vendors.
Safety Expectations
- Follow all COTA safety policies, PPE requirements, equipment procedures, and supervisor instructions.
- Safely operate vehicles and equipment only after completing required training and receiving authorization.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, incidents, injuries, or other safety concerns to Event Operations leadership.
Physical Demands
This is a physically active position requiring prolonged standing and walking, as well as frequent bending, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, carrying, loading, and unloading.
Employees must be able to safely lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or more, with assistance or appropriate equipment when required.
The position requires significant walking throughout the COTA property and may involve increased physical activity during major events, concerts, and race weekends.
Work Environment
Work is performed throughout the Circuit of The Americas property in both indoor and outdoor environments, including event spaces, hospitality areas, track areas, storage facilities, paved and unpaved surfaces, stairs, and varying terrain.
Employees may work in changing weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity, and may work around vehicles, equipment, machinery, temporary event infrastructure, and elevated noise levels.
Schedules, assignments, and work locations may change based on event and operational needs.
Salary commensurate with experience.
