As a Water Mitigation Crew Chief, you'll take the lead on restoration job sites, guide crew members, and help homeowners and businesses recover from unexpected water and property damage.

What You'll Do

As a Water Mitigation Crew Chief, you will lead restoration crews on residential and commercial job sites impacted by water, sewage, and other property damage. You'll be responsible for keeping projects moving safely and efficiently while providing an exceptional experience for our customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and supervise assigned crew members on restoration job sites
  • Assess water and sewage damage and determine appropriate mitigation steps
  • Perform water extraction, mitigation, and structural drying
  • Set up, monitor, and remove professional drying equipment
  • Perform demolition and removal of damaged materials when necessary
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized restoration equipment
  • Maintain accurate and timely job documentation using company and industry software
  • Communicate project progress and expectations clearly with customers
  • Provide professional, empathetic service to customers experiencing property damage
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
  • Ensure work is completed according to company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
  • Drive a company vehicle to and from job sites while following all safety and traffic requirements
  • Assist with mold remediation projects as needed following training
  • Take ownership of assigned projects from initial response through completion of mitigation work
What We're Looking For

We're looking for a dependable, hands-on leader who can take ownership of a job site while providing an excellent experience for our customers.

Previous restoration or mitigation experience is preferred; however, we are willing to consider candidates with strong leadership experience in construction, skilled trades, home services, or another hands-on environment who have the right attitude and work ethic.

Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Previous restoration, construction, skilled trades, or related hands-on experience preferred
  • Previous crew lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to lead and work alongside a field crew
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work throughout the workday
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to remain professional and empathetic when working with customers during stressful situations
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and some holidays as needed
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Des Moines area
  • Must successfully complete required pre-employment background check and drug screening
Schedule

This is a full-time position. Because Power Dry provides emergency restoration services, overtime, weekend, and holiday availability may be required as needed.
