Description:

Department: Parts

Functions:

  1. To verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
  2. To process all incoming Special-Order Parts.
  3. To process all incoming parts for stock.
  4. To stock all parts in proper locations.

Relationships:

  1. Reports directly to the Parts Manager.
  2. Reports indirectly to the Assistant Parts Manager.

Responsibilities and Authority:

  • Check parts against packing slips for discrepancies daily.
  • Process all Special-Order Parts by labeling the Special-Order Parts with customer name, pulling appropriate SOR cards and giving appropriate SOR cards to the Counterperson that created the order.
  • Stock all parts in proper locations daily.
  • Create new locations for new inventory daily.
  • Unload delivery trucks with the forklift as needed.
  • Prepare all returns for shipping.
  • Return customer Pay Cores once per week per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Return warranty Cores once per week per Manufacturer guidelines.
  • Place all SOP parts that have been in stock more than 30 days in the “RIM Room” once per week. Pull the corresponding SOR cards for those parts and give to Parts Manager.
  • Field scraps all warranty parts once per week per the Manufacturer guidelines.
  • Sweep floors in receiving area once per week.
  • Process returns to GM as we receive paperwork from GM.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

High School diploma or the equivalent. Basic mathematical and reasoning skills required. Able to read and comprehend instructions and information. One year of experience in an automotive parts department preferred. Professional personal appearance. Employee must be able to lift/move 25 lbs. consistently and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Must pass and hold certification to operate forklift.

Working Conditions:

This is a physically demanding position. Will move throughout the parts warehouse all day, reaching, lifting, and climbing to obtain parts from inventory. Will stand six to eight hours during a shift. This position requires exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, fumes and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. May drive company owned vehicles. Must be trained and deemed competent to operate forklift under the Company’s guidelines.
