Electrical Technician

Position Summary:
Our Electrical Technicians repair and install mechanical and electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of machinery and equipment. Follows electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:- Installs and connects power supply wiring for new or previously installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
- Detects malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as machine repairer, maintenance and tool maker, maintenance, to diagnose malfunction.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, using electronic test equipment and hand tools.
- May push buttons and press keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
- May plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
- May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Routinely perform PM program adhering to current checklists.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and automation problems on production equipment and automated systems.
- Diagnose faults using PLC logic, I/O status, electrical schematics, HMI alarms, drive diagnostics, and field measurements.
- Connect to PLCs to monitor programs, identify faults, trace signals, and determine the root cause of equipment failures.
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2 to 4 years related industrial experience
- Electrical troubleshooting skills are essential.
- General mechanical and electrical knowledge as it comes to industrial settings of motors and controls is essential.
- General ability to work safely, communicate and function in a team is essential.
- PLC and VFD troubleshooting skills a must
- Ability to fabricate and electrical installation experience, preferred
- Industrial Maintenance related training or certifications preferred
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, equipment manuals, diagrams, and specifications
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
- Process control (Allen Bradley, Siemens, SIMATICS, TIA Portal, RSLogix).
- Work environment is comparable to outdoor temperatures
- Regularly stands, bends, and reaches for extended periods
- Regularly moves about the facility
- Regularly lifts and moves materials up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally required to move up to 100 pounds by pushing, pulling, or sliding material. Assistance provided as needed.
- Visual inspection of material quality required.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments without climate-control
- In-person attendance is an essential function of the job
- Maintenance Supervisor
- Must be available to work 3am - 12pm
