Mid QA Mobile Automation Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Mid QA Mobile Automation Engineer based in Germany.

This role offers the opportunity to build and maintain robust automated testing solutions for modern iOS and Android applications.
You’ll work hands-on with Appium 2.0, C#/.NET 8, and established mobile automation frameworks.
The position combines test engineering, framework development, CI/CD integration, and quality assurance practices.
You’ll help translate product requirements into reliable, maintainable automated tests across simulators, emulators, and real devices.
The role involves close collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders in an international environment.
You’ll also contribute to improving testing processes, automation coverage, and overall software quality.
It’s a strong opportunity for a QA engineer looking to deepen their mobile automation expertise while working remotely on international projects.

Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated mobile tests using Appium 2.0 with C# and .NET 8.

  • Build and maintain automation solutions for both iOS and Android applications using appropriate frameworks and testing practices.

  • Perform iOS automation using XCUITest Driver across simulators and physical devices, working with Xcode as required.

  • Implement Android automation using UiAutomator2 Driver across emulators and physical devices.

  • Develop and maintain scalable test frameworks using the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern.

  • Use accessibility IDs and other robust locator strategies to create reliable and maintainable automated tests.

  • Create and manage NUnit test suites, including lifecycle management, setup and teardown, parallel execution, and parameterized testing.

  • Use Appium Inspector to identify elements, validate locators, troubleshoot automation scripts, and support debugging activities.

  • Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to support continuous quality validation.

  • Work with Git and collaborative development workflows to maintain and review automation code.

  • Analyse functional and technical requirements and translate them into effective automated testing strategies.

  • Apply QA methodologies and software testing best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify quality risks, communicate findings, and support continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • Proven professional experience in mobile test automation, particularly with Appium 2.0, C#, and .NET 8.

  • Strong knowledge of mobile automation frameworks and testing best practices for both iOS and Android.

  • Hands-on experience with XCUITest Driver, including simulator and real-device testing, plus familiarity with Xcode.

  • Solid experience with UiAutomator2 Driver for Android automation across emulators and physical devices.

  • Practical experience developing and maintaining test frameworks using the Page Object Model (POM).

  • Proficiency with accessibility-id as a locator strategy for stable and maintainable automation.

  • Experience with NUnit, including test lifecycle management, setup/teardown, parallel execution, and parameterized testing.

  • Experience using Appium Inspector for element identification, locator validation, and automation debugging.

  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative software development practices.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong understanding of software QA principles, testing methodologies, tools, and processes.

  • Ability to analyse requirements and turn them into effective automated testing solutions.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
