About the Role:
The Superintendent will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of commercial construction projects from inception through completion. This position is responsible for ensuring that projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent will coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to optimize constructability and address any challenges that arise during the construction process. A key focus will be on maintaining rigorous safety management practices to protect all personnel and comply with regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the Superintendent will drive project success by fostering effective communication, proactive problem-solving, and meticulous oversight of all construction activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction management or superintendent roles.
- Proven knowledge of construction safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and coordinating complex construction activities.
- Strong understanding of pre-construction processes and constructability review.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
- Experience with masonry and demolition projects in a commercial construction setting.
- Familiarity with construction management software and project scheduling tools.
- Advanced knowledge of safety management systems and risk mitigation strategies.
- Previous experience working in a corporate office environment supporting multiple project sites.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations on commercial construction sites, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with contract specifications.
- Implement and enforce comprehensive safety management protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with pre-construction teams to review plans, assess constructability, and provide input to optimize project delivery.
- Oversee specialized construction activities including masonry and demolition, ensuring technical accuracy and safety compliance.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor work quality, resolve issues, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed documentation of project progress, safety incidents, and subcontractor performance.
